Cultivation of dry lotus root
Dry lotus root likes warmth and is not tolerant to drought and flooding. Select fields with deep soil layer and free drainage and irrigation, apply 3000 kg pig and sheep fertilizer and 50 kg compound fertilizer per mu after deep ploughing and fine rake, or open shallow ditches after ploughing and raking, apply bottom fertilizer and cover soil.
The introduction of dry lotus root should be from October to the end of November (or the following spring, but the provenance is extremely scarce), and the planting should be from sting to Qingming, from the Spring Equinox to Qingming. When planting, one row or two rows can be used. The row spacing is 70-90 cm, and the plant spacing is about 50 cm. When planting, put the spherical root into the hole, cover the soil, cover the soil into ridges, and the planting depth is 3-5 cm. Seedlings can also be raised and transplanted, starting in late March with a seedling age of about 35 days. Seedlings with 3-5 leaves can be transplanted with 1500-2000 seedlings per mu in sunny and warm weather.
Dry lotus root likes to be wet, the field should keep dry and wet, the humidity is about 65%, but avoid stagnant water. During the bulb expansion period, combined with watering, burrowing and fertilization should be made at the intersection of Sikui, topdressing 50 kg compound fertilizer and 15 kg urea per mu, and cultivating soil to protect soil.
The harvest time of dry lotus root is between Frosts Descent and Lesser Snow, but in order to prolong the supply period, the vegetable market can also be supplied in advance at the end of September, and the storage should be dug when the aboveground stems and leaves are withered and fully ripe, and dried on the same site for 1-2 days (frozen at night to be recovered). During storage, put a layer of dry lotus root and sprinkle a layer of loose fine soil, and the top layer should be covered with some dry fresh straw, and finally covered with fine soil. When the quantity is small, it can be packed and stored in gunny bags.

Leek, also known as sea garlic, garlic seedlings, flat leaf onions, Liliaceae onion genus, biennial herbs. Originally from south-central Europe, it was introduced into China at the end of the 19th century. Because the leaves, pseudo-stems and flower bolts are edible and rich in carbohydrates, they are mostly used instead of garlic seedlings or exported after dehydration processing. The economic benefit is very significant. In 1992, our institute introduced American Citigroup leek from abroad, and over the past 8 years, it has accumulated promotion areas in Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan and Shaanxi.
