Brief introduction of a New late Japonica Rice Variety Zhejing 30

Last Updated: 2024/11/24, Zhejiang Jing30 was approved by the 27th Variety approval meeting of Provincial Agricultural articles Review Committee in March 2003. In the provincial regional test in 2000, the average yield per mu of this variety was 428.74 kg, which was 0.12% lower than that of the control Xiushui 63, which was not significant. In the provincial regional test in 2001, the average yield per mu was 506.19 kg, 10.7% higher than that of the control Xiushui 63, reaching a very significant level. In the production test in 2002, the average yield per mu was 445.6 kg, which was 2.5 higher than that of Xiushui 63.

Zhejing 30 was approved by the 27th variety examination and approval meeting of Provincial Agricultural Products Examination Committee in March 2003. The average yield per mu of this variety was 428.74 kg in provincial test in 2000, 0.12% less than that of Xiushui 63, which was not significant. In provincial test in 2001, the average yield per mu was 506.19 kg, which was 10.7% higher than that of Xiushui 63, which reached extremely significant level. The average yield per mu was 5.46% higher than that of Xiushui 63 in two years. The average yield per mu was 445.6 kg in 2002, which was 2.53% higher than that of Xiushui 63. The average whole growth period of two years was 134.5 days, 0.9 days longer than that of the control. The average effective panicle was 233000, 82 grains per panicle, seed setting rate 91.6%, 1000-grain weight 25.7 g. According to the identification results of Plant Protection Institute of Zhejiang Province Academy of Agricultural Sciences, it is moderately resistant to rice blast, bacterial blight, susceptible to thin stripe disease, brown rice lice and white-backed rice lice. According to the analysis of Rice and Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Ministry of Agriculture in 2000, brown rice rate, milled rice rate, head milled rice rate, grain length, aspect ratio, alkali elimination value, gel consistency and amylose content reach the first grade standard of edible high quality rice issued by Ministry of Agriculture, chalkiness and transparency reach the second grade standard of edible high quality rice issued by Ministry of Agriculture. The variety is dense panicle type, compact plant type, strong tillering power, medium panicle type, good yield; green stalk yellow maturity at late growth stage, better rice quality, blast resistance is better than Xiushui 63. Suitable for planting late rice in the whole province.

Key points of cultivation techniques:

1. Seed disinfection, such as soaking with disinfectant Ling seed, so that the seed into the soil without disease.

2. Sowing at appropriate time, generally sowing on June 20~30 for double seasons, the sowing amount per mu of seedling field shall not exceed 30 kg, and strong seedlings shall be sown sparsely and tillers shall be cultivated. Transplant before the end of July, with 3~3.5 kg seed per mu in the field. Single cropping rice is generally sown from the end of May to the first ten days of June, and the seed amount used in the field is 2.5~3 kg.

3. Reasonable dense planting, planting more than 25,000 clusters per mu, 3~4 per cluster, and applying standard fertilizer 50~55 loads per mu. Do a good job in slurry management and pest control.

4. Timely harvest and proper delay of harvest period can obviously improve rice quality.
