South Korea's first cloned pig was born

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, CHAO Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Professor Jin Hui Kim of Gyeongsang University College of Agriculture jointly conducted the first pig cloning project in Korea. Two cloned pigs were successfully born through the project. The cloned pig was born on July 14, 2002 using cloned somatic cells. The world's first successfully cloned pig was born in March 2000 at the PPL Institute in the United States. The team now intends to develop mutant pigs by tweaking genes.

CHAO Pharmaceutical of South Korea and Jin Zhenhui Professor Group of Agricultural College of Gyeongsang University jointly carried out the first pig cloning project in South Korea.
