Last Updated: 2024/11/03, On the morning of May 16, 2006, 5 rams weighing 50 to 60 kilograms in the sheep farm in the prison area showed different degrees of poisoning reaction due to the application of mite purification solution, of which 3 were unable to lie on the ground and the reaction was strong. After arriving at the scene, it was found that three shearing rams were lying on the ground (one was dead). The sheep had muscle tremors, foaming at the mouth, empty chewing, open horns, stiff limbs, rowing, dyspnea, shortness of breath, and straight eyes. In one of them, 10 ml of atropine was injected subcutaneously and 10 ml of paracetamol was injected intravenously.

After arriving at the scene, it was found that three shearing rams were lying on the ground (one was dead). The sheep had muscle tremors, foaming at the mouth, empty chewing, open horns, stiff limbs, rowing, dyspnea, shortness of breath, and straight eyes. In one of them, 10 ml of atropine was injected subcutaneously and 10 ml of paracetamol was injected intravenously (in 250 ml of normal saline). At the same time, the coating site was washed with soapy water. The symptoms of poisoning in the ram were relieved in about 10 minutes, and the ram could stand and walk by itself. After the first sheep was injected with atropine, the medicine was ready to inject phosphorus into the second sheep intravenously (only two atropine had been used in the first sheep). The sheep suddenly struggled strongly, then stopped breathing and heartbeat and fell to the ground and died. The other two rams moving with the herd were found, one of which had no abnormal reaction, and the other was lethargic, slow in response and unstable in running. He immediately washed the coated area with soapy water and put it back for observation. No abnormality was found after half an hour.

It is understood that when shearing sheep, it was found that there were many hard ticks at the base of the scrotum, so they directly smeared the bitten area with mite Jing (an area of about 80 square centimeters). More than 10 minutes later, it was found that the sheep were excited, unstable and collided. When the rescue is over, the whole process takes only more than half an hour.

The causes of poisoning are as follows: the groin of sheep is hairless, moist and hidden, it is easy to parasite in vitro, and it is absorbed quickly through the skin after smearing the solution, which is more likely to cause acute poisoning in sheep. At the same time, the poisoned sheep are exposed to the sun, which may accelerate their death. If they cannot be rescued in time, they can be placed in a cool place and rinsed with clean water as soon as possible. Of course, the most important thing is to dilute the solution in accordance with the requirements before using drugs, and in the use of bath drugs, prepare detoxification drugs in order to better prevent the occurrence of accidents.
