Last Updated: 2024/11/05, At present, cotton has entered the budding stage, the prevention and control of cotton overgrowth must start from now on. The so-called overgrowth means that cotton loses the function of normal growth, that is, it only blossoms but does not bear peaches, or blossoms more than peaches. First of all, the reason is caused by climate factors, the second is the blind introduction of cotton varieties, and the second is that the cultivation means do not adapt to climate change. According to records, when the temperature exceeds 35 ℃, the pollen development is abnormal and can not pollinate normally, while the persistent drought aggravates the shedding of buds and bolls. In addition, some cotton areas appeared in the middle of August.

At present, cotton has entered the budding stage, the prevention and control of cotton overgrowth must start from now on.

In addition, in mid-August, some cotton areas have been overcast and rainy for a week, which will also make it difficult for cotton to bloom and pollinate normally.

In terms of cultivation technology, some late-maturing cotton varieties and late-stubble cotton encountered high temperature and drought during the peak flowering period; some cotton fields had too much density, serious shade, and poor permeable environment; some cotton fields applied nitrogen fertilizer, resulting in excessive vegetative growth and bad peach setting.

The following measures can be taken to save the cotton apprentices:

First of all, seize the opportunity of the second peach peak of cotton. In normal years, the first peach peak is from early July to late July. When the temperature drops to 25: 30 ℃, there will be a second peach peak. Therefore, the loss of autumn peach can be compensated, and the mature rate of autumn peach is about 15% higher than that of Fu peach.

Secondly, strengthen management. Urea is applied to cotton fields that are defertilized, adding 10 kilograms of potash fertilizer per mu; 1% urea and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution are sprayed on the roots of general cotton fields; thoroughly pruning and removing old leaves in cotton fields with high density and shade weight; spraying Zhuang Su on the roots of cotton fields that are growing well, 7 million milliliters per mu and 50 kilograms of water; good control of late-stage diseases and insect pests.

Third, select the cotton varieties suitable for planting in this area.
