The new cotton strain Zhongchang-03 is favored.
One autumn day, although it was drizzling and accompanied by 3Mel 4 northerly wind, it did not stop more than 40 representatives from all over the province from going to Changxinpu Village of Diaodong Cotton original Farm in Hanchuan City to observe and inspect the new cotton strain Chang-03. although the representatives' feet and trouser legs were covered with mud, they saw that the cotton plant was covered with 3040 large and round cotton peaches. The deputies came to the field to count and watch and were busy. One representative had nearly a hundred cotton plants, eager to be uprooted. Kuang Dongping, general manager of the China Cotton seed Yangtze River Company of the Cotton Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, greeted everyone to take a group photo happily in Tiantou.
The on-site observation meeting was jointly held by the Cotton Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Yangtze River Company of Cotton seed Industry and the Diaodong Cotton seed Farm in Hanchuan City, Hubei Province. Zuo Weibing, secretary of the party branch of Changxinpu Village, said: thank the Yangtze River Company and the Field Department for providing us with a new cotton variety Zhongchang-03 bred by experts. 750 mu of cotton fields in our village can grow such good cotton in the case of frequent disasters this year. We didn't expect this. Now, there are more than 63000 peaches per mu, and it is no problem to produce 100kg lint per mu.
According to reports, Zhongchang-03 was bred by directional hybridization between E Kangmian 3 and Guokang 1. In 2001, plot experiments were conducted in Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Henan and other provinces, with 130.8 kilograms of lint per mu, an increase of 5.9 percent over the control insect-resistant hybrid cotton Zhongmiansuo 29. In the multi-point variety comparison test in 2002, the lint per mu was 129.2 kg, which was 6.1% higher than that of the control Zhongmiansuo 29. The expansion of demonstration planting in 2003 showed strong resistance and strong vitality to resist disasters and win a bumper harvest of cotton under the test of high temperature, drought and many times of waterlogging, which was not seen in a century.
According to the field investigation, the plant height of the strain was 113.6 cm, the fruit branches were 18.4, the weight of single boll in the middle was 5.5 ml 6.0g, and the lint percentage was 40%. The leaf color is light green, the plant type is sparse, the light transmittance is good, the development is early and fast, the fruit node is many, the root system is developed, spit smoothly. High resistance to wilt, resistance to Verticillium wilt, resistance to high temperature and drought, resistance to waterlogging, strong resistance to insects. Tested by the Cotton quality testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the fiber 2.5% span length is 30.1 mm, the specific strength is 30.8 g / Tex, and the micronaire value is 4.9, which is suitable for planting in the cotton area of the Yangtze River basin.
Through on-site observation and inspection and the introduction of the host, the participants ordered cotton seeds from the organizers one after another. Xie Jiaxu, manager of Lantian Agricultural Management Department in Zhongxiang City, said that we will not leave until we promise to give cotton seeds. Liu Dongchu, manager of Jingzhou Nongkang New Technology Development Co., Ltd., not only wants 7500 kilograms of cotton, but also organizes people to visit and study when he goes back. The person in charge of the Provincial Agricultural Department and the Hanchuan Agricultural Bureau think that Zhongchang 03 has strong adaptability and high yield, and can expand demonstration planting.
Dong Ping, general manager of the Yangtze River Company, plans to breed medium length-034000 mu with her partner next year, and arrange 90 cotton producing counties and cities producing more than 100000 mu in the Yangtze River basin to expand demonstration planting, so as to contribute to the industrialization of cotton seeds in the Yangtze River cotton area and even in China.

Harm and control methods of cotton aphid
Cotton aphid is the offspring of cotton aphids at seedling stage. After ambush, aphids begin to harm cotton, and its harmfulness is much greater than that of aphids at seedling stage. The oily excretion of aphids is covered with cotton leaves, reducing leaf function, hindering the normal progress of photosynthesis, hindering the transport of nutrients, causing cotton tender leaves to curl, thus causing cotton buds and bolls to fall off. Therefore, the prevention and control of aphids is an important measure to strive for prolificacy and premature production of summer peaches. First, seize the opportunity of control: cotton aphids are usually

The variety was selected by Cotton Research Institute of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences and has been examined and approved by Anhui crop Variety approval Committee. 1. Yield level: participated in the variety comparison test of our institute in 1996, the lint yield per mu was 96.7 kg, which was 26.10% higher than that of Simian 3, and 98.93 kg per mu in 1997, 18.36% higher than that of Simian 3. F1 participated in the cotton regional trial in Anhui Province in 1998, and the average seed cotton yield per mu was 234.35 kg per mu in 7 pilot areas.
