Last Updated: 2024/11/05, The main goal of cotton post-management is to promote cotton maturity, early boll opening, not premature senescence, not greedy green. To do a good job in pruning, one is to remove the old leaves and empty branches from the lower part of the main stem for the luxuriant and shady cotton fields. The second is to wipe out the superfluous buds in time and adhere to the principle that the superfluous buds are no more than an inch. Third, hit the group tip, generally knock off the group tip of the lower, middle and upper fruit branches. The main goal of cotton post-management is to promote cotton maturity, early boll opening, not premature senescence, not greedy green.

Do a good job in pruning

First, for the luxuriant and shady cotton fields, the old leaves and empty branches in the lower part of the main stem can be removed. The second is to wipe out the superfluous buds in time and adhere to the principle that the superfluous buds are no more than an inch. Third, hit the group tip, generally knock off the group tip of the lower, middle and upper fruit branches. Fourth, when there are more shaded cotton fields or Rain Water, it is necessary to push plants and ridges for 2 or 3 times to promote the ripening of cotton peaches and reduce mildew and rot.

Foliar spraying to prevent premature senility

The management of cotton in the later stage should be mainly to prevent premature senescence, and foliar fertilizer spraying should be used to meet the nutrient needs of cotton. The mixed solution of multi-element fertilizer composed of 1.2% urea, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.2% zinc sulfate and 0.1% 0.2% boric acid should be sprayed several times before foliar fertilizer spraying; after spraying 1% 2% ammonium solution or 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution, 50 kg fertilizer solution per mu should be sprayed every 7 to 10 days to achieve the purpose of preventing early aging and promoting precocious maturity.

Artificial chemical ripening

At the end of September and the beginning of October, choose a sunny day and spray 50 kg of water to promote precocity with 40% ethephon 150 kg 200 ml per mu. In case of continuous rainy weather in the later stage, the old ripe cotton peaches with boll period of more than 40 days can be picked, soaked in 0.5%-1% ethephon solution and dried (when the daily maximum temperature is lower than 20 ℃, plastic film can be used to cover the temperature, and dry after the medicine effect is brought into full play), the cotton peaches with normal bolting can be obtained. In order to ensure the efficacy, ethephon solution should be used at any time, and should not be mixed with alkaline pesticides.

Timely harvest to ensure high yield

Cotton peach cracking and opening for about 7 days to pick up the best, so that "four clean, two do not harvest". "Sijing" means picking up the cotton peaches on the cotton plant, picking the cotton petals in the cotton shell, picking the peaches on the ground, and removing the sundries in the cotton wool. "No harvest" means that peaches that are not completely cracked and mature will not be harvested, and peaches with dew on cotton lint will not be harvested. In addition, strictly put an end to "three strands" pollution, "three strands" that is, chemical fiber, hair, hemp and so on.
