Cultivation of African Violet
How can we raise African violets well? We need to understand its requirements for environmental conditions.? Only by meeting its requirements can it grow well. The request to the light is not high, the indoor sunny windowsill or nearby desktop is a good place to place. It requires higher ambient humidity, more than 50%, but the indoor air in the north is dry. The humidity in winter is only about 30%, how to solve it? Put a plate under the flowerpot, hold water, put a few pebbles, put the small flowerpot on the pebbles, do not touch the water, rely on the slow evaporation of the water in the plate, can basically meet the humidity requirements. The suitable temperature for African violets to grow and blossom is between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃, which is lower than 15 ℃. The growth is slow, while the excessively high temperature only grows leaves but does not blossom. Nowadays, many offices and rooms have air conditioning. When people enjoy the cool breeze, it also creates conditions for its growth and flowering. Its roots are all thin fibrous roots, so the cultivation substrate must be loose and ventilated before the roots can grow well. In general, peat soil, perlite and vermiculite can be mixed with the same amount of peat soil, perlite and vermiculite, or a little sandy soil can be added. This kind of substrate is loose and breathable, and its water retention capacity is also strong. It can be watered once every few days, and there is no need to water every day. The fertilizer used is better to use liquid fertilizer sold in the market, not organic fertilizer, so as to avoid some unpleasant taste. The liquid fertilizer should be diluted, and the concentration should not exceed 0.3%. During the growing period, the liquid fertilizer can be fertilized once a month, and the liquid fertilizer containing more phosphorus and potash can be used in the flowering period.
How to propagate new plants? Seedling companies often use tissue culture to obtain a large number of seedlings. Family planting can be propagated by split-plant method or leaf insertion method. As long as the room temperature is between 15 ℃-25 ℃, new seedlings can be propagated by leaf cutting at any time. With leaves with petioles inserted into clean vermiculite or sandy soil to moisturize, about half a month petiole stem can grow roots, and after more than 1 month, seedlings will be exposed to the soil surface. Seeds are rare, often stunted, and difficult to germinate, so they generally do not need seeds to reproduce.

Cultivation techniques of African Violet
Pot substrate is made of high-quality peat moss, which is light, permeable and fertile, which is most suitable for the growth and development of African violets. The pH value of the matrix is 5m / m / m / 6. Flowerpot size for the standard size of African violets, 9cm pots are often used. For large crown diameter varieties, it is recommended to use a flowerpot of 10 Murray 12 cm. In order to facilitate transportation and reduce plant damage, pot planting should be watered less and moist after planting. When planting, be careful not to press the basin soil too firmly and keep it loose.
