Sick rabbits are mainly manifested in unbearable pain and itching in their ears, often scratching and shaking their heads with their forelimbs, and showing symptoms such as lethargy, restlessness, less anorexia, weight loss and so on. Physical symptoms include redness and swelling of the ear skin, dandruff and hair loss, gradual increase in the scope, inflammation of the external auditory canal, running water, scab, and thickening of the skin. As a result of continuous scratching and pouring, rabbits often cause skin infection to aggravate the injury, bleeding, fever, convulsions, epilepsy, and eventually die.

In order to prevent and cure the disease, we must first control the infection. Because ear itching is highly contagious, once an individual gets sick, a litter of rabbits is likely to be infected. Therefore, once infected individuals are found, they should be quarantined immediately to prevent cross-infection.

To treat diseased rabbits, you can first use cotton dipped in 2% trichlorfon to directly smear the affected area and its surroundings, once a day for 3 consecutive days, and then use ivermectin by neck muscle injection of 0.2 mg / kg of body weight, once a week for 3 times.

Do the disinfection. Ear itching is a disease caused by pathogens. In order to completely eliminate the pathogens of the environment, cut off the route of transmission, and prevent continuous spread, 1% trichlorfon was sprayed once a week for 3 weeks; rabbits without disease were thoroughly disinfected twice, and rabbit excreta, rabbit hair and surplus feed were thoroughly cleaned up.

Increase resistance. Ear itching often occurs in individuals with weak physique and low resistance. Therefore, in peacetime feeding, farmers should pay attention to increasing the intake of vitamins to rabbits, and the matching feeding of green feed and full-price feed, in order to improve rabbit immunity and resistance.
