For young pear trees without pruning for one year, the reasonable tree shape will be lost, and the full fruit period will be postponed. With the promotion of fast-growing early fruit and high yield cultivation techniques, young tree pruning has become more important than any period of pruning. So how to trim young trees?

1. First of all, it is necessary to determine which kind of tree to cultivate.

Pear trees have many tree shapes, such as layered shape, variable trunk shape, single trunk shape, hedge bar shape, happy shape, fast-growing and delayed happy shape of small crown. At present, the commonly used is the small crown fast growth delay happy shape. Its shape is as follows: the trunk is 30 cm high, three main branches, one central trunk, the three main branches are distributed in a triangular oblique direction, 1-2 secondary main branches are cultivated on each main branch, and several fruiting branches are left on the central trunk, and the height of the tree is less than 2.5 meters.

2. Plastic surgery:

Before plastic surgery, you have to put the shape of the tree you want to cultivate in your heart, that is, you have a good idea of it, so that you can create the tree shape you need according to the situation. The shaping methods are as follows:

(1) A tree with sufficient branches. First select three strong branches as the main branch, pull at an angle of 50-60 degrees, the rope of the branch should be tied to the middle and lower part of the branch tip to prevent the branch from being arched, and the rough branch should be taken first, softened and then pulled to prevent cracking or breaking. Choose a weak growth as the central stem, vertically do not pull.

(2) trees with insufficient branches. The weak single-root tree will be redried by 50 cm to promote the reshaping of more branches next year. For those with strong growth, the single stem can be pulled and tilted into a main branch, and through techniques such as sprouting, other main branches can be produced from the buds on the back. If it is a two-branch tree, leave a weak branch as the main branch, cut short the strong branches to promote new shoots, and cultivate other main branches and central stems. In order to have three branches to cultivate into a happy shape.

(3) after the tree with too many branches retains the main branch and the central trunk, the other branches should be retained as auxiliary branches as far as possible, but they should be flattened and the height should not exceed the main branch.

3. Pruning:

When the growth strength of the three main branches is consistent, the height of the retained shoots is basically the same. on the contrary, according to the principle of strong shoots growing long and weak shoots strong, the strong main branches stay more and less cut, generally leaving more than 2cm, while weak branches are cut more and less to promote long shoots, generally cutting off about half of them. When pruning, the cut is slightly oblique, about 1 cm away from the bud, and the cut bud should be left on the outside of the branch.

Pruning is an important part of tree culture, and a good tree shape needs to be pruned in summer and water and fertilizer management measures.
