The new method of sowing garlic emerges in 10 days
Garlic is usually sown in late August. Usually, it takes 50 days for direct seeding to emerge seedlings. If the following methods are used before sowing, the time of emergence of seedlings can be shortened by using the following methods, which is beneficial to seedling cultivation.
1. Seed soaking in human urine. Soak the garlic cloves with fat head, milky white color, no disease spot and no wound mildew into mature human urine (suitable for submerged garlic seed) for 48-54 hours, sow immediately after soaking and draining. After sowing, cover a layer of loose moist soil 6-8 cm thick, and pay attention to strengthen the soil wetting management, generally 6-7 days can emerge seedlings.
2. Peel the skin to reveal the tip. Before sowing, gently cut the sharp skin of the selected garlic with scissors to reveal the pointed meat; you can also peel off the tip skin of the garlic cloves with your hands to make the tip skin loose. After sowing such garlic seeds, as long as some thin dung water is poured on the side of the box and covered with moist fertile soil, it generally takes only a week or so for seedlings to emerge.
3. Sowing seeds with "three wetness". Soak the selected garlic in clean water for 12-24 hours to make the seed valve absorb enough water to achieve "seed wet"; sowing line (hole) wet with thin dung water to achieve "soil wet"; base fertilizer and mulch use moist soil debris to achieve "fat and wet". After sowing, a thin layer of broken straw or aquatic silk grass is spread on the side of the box, and seedlings can emerge in about 10 days.
4. Split sowing. Before sowing garlic, in addition to eliminating yellowing, softening, sprouting, moth-eating, discoloration and mildew of stem disc, large, medium and small valves were sown respectively. According to the experiment, under the same water and fertilizer conditions, the large-petal species emerged earlier, the seedlings were uniform, the seedlings were sturdy and the topdressing at the seedling stage was omitted, and the garlic moss and garlic increased production by 14% and 22%, respectively.
5. Rational cultivation. There are two cultivation methods of garlic: flat beds and high ridges. In recent years, vegetable bases and cities have adopted the method of flat cultivation of large and small rows, planting garlic in one row and green garlic in the other, which can not only improve the land utilization rate and increase economic income, but also do not affect the growth of garlic. The specific measures are as follows: sowing seeds in the first and middle of September, planting double rows with 18 cm row spacing, 6 cm small row spacing, and left row, which is used for producing garlic head and sowing large petal seeds, with a plant spacing of 7.5ml / m 9 cm; the right row is used for producing green garlic, sowing medium and small petal seeds, with a plant spacing of 3-3.5 cm, which is convenient for timely market supply after green garlic grows.
