Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Pig lees poisoning is often caused by lack of other feed combinations due to long-term feeding of lees, or sudden feeding of a large number of lees or moldy lees. The toxic components of distiller's grains are alcohol remaining in distillers' grains, and organic acids and fusel oils produced by continuous fermentation and rancidity of distillers' grains, such as acetic acid, n-propanol, isobutanol and so on. 1. 1. Clinical symptoms

Six fattening pigs of 35kg~45kg raised by a farmer showed symptoms of poisoning after eating wine trough, of which one died. Suffering from depressed spirit, the body temperature is about 39.6 ℃, the skin is blue, constipation followed by diarrhea, gait instability, limb paralysis, lying on the floor can not afford, some excited and accompanied by a rash.

2. Pathological changes.

After dissecting the dead pig, it was found that the lung was congested, the pharynx and throat mucosa was slightly inflated, the esophageal mucosa was congested, the stomach inflated, the gastric mucosa was congested and bleeding, the gastric contents smelled of alcohol and vinegar, and the duodenal mucosa exfoliated and bleeding. There were blood spots in jejunum, ileum and cecum, blood and trace blood clots in the intestines, swelling of the rectum, exfoliation of mucous membrane, swelling of gallbladder wall, softness of myocardium and insufficiency of blood coagulation. The kidneys are swollen and brittle.

3. Diagnosis

According to the feeding condition, clinical symptoms and pathological anatomical changes, it was preliminarily diagnosed as distiller's grains poisoning. During the investigation of the feed condition, it was found that the distiller's grains used for feeding was completely exposed to the air, and the distiller's grains with a surface thickness of 1cm had been mutated and mixed with sour taste.

A small amount of variant distiller's grains was soaked in distilled water, filtered, placed in a beaker, and the pH value was determined. Preliminary measurement of pH
