Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Lactating sows are well managed, and sows are easy to estrus and maintain good reproductive performance after weaning, which can ensure that piglets can be transferred to nursing homes after weaning, so as to lay a solid foundation for improving the breeding rate. When feeding, we should pay attention to the following points: first, the average feed amount of sows from litter to weaning should not be fed on the average on the day of delivery, about 1 kg on the second day, and then increase by 0.5 kg per day until weaning 1 week later. Second, to ensure adequate energy for lactating sows.

Lactating sows are well managed, and sows are easy to estrus and maintain good reproductive performance after weaning, which can ensure that piglets can be transferred to nursing homes after weaning, so as to lay a solid foundation for improving the breeding rate. The following points should be paid attention to when feeding:

1. The feeding amount of sows from litter to weaning should be averagely not fed on the day of delivery, about 1 kg on the second day, and then increased by 0.5 kg per day until weaning 1 week later.

Second, to ensure adequate energy for lactating sows.

The energy of lactating sows should be lower than that of 11.7MJ/kg and the protein of lactating sows should not be less than 16%. Because lactating sows have to maintain their own energy needs on the one hand, and suckling piglets on the other, sows have to consume too much of their physical energy, thus affecting lactation and the next estrus. When the protein content is high (the best is about 17%), it can promote sows to secrete more milk, reduce maternal nutritional weightlessness, prevent reproductive performance from deteriorating, and improve the survival rate of piglets.

Third, the best wet feed for lactating sows

In the southern part of our country, high temperature and humidity in summer can easily make sows lose their appetite. in addition, as 80% of sow milk is moisture, it should be replenished. Generally, after adding dry material in the trough, put 2 times as much water as dry material, which can greatly improve the palatability of the feed.

Fourth, while feeding full-price feed, appropriately add some green succulent feed (such as sweet potato vines, etc.).

First, it can improve the appetite of sows, increase the secretion of milk, and second, it can reduce the occurrence of constipation in sows. However, the green feed should first be washed with clean water and then dried in the sun, so as to reduce the occurrence and spread of parasitic diseases.
