Licorice is easy to mold, if the air humidity is too large, licorice surface is easy to produce mildew spots or white and green hyphae, the following measures can be taken to prevent and control: water content to ensure that 14% below, environmental relative humidity control in 80% below, good packaging seal, the use of pile position and account to wet; chemical fumigation, with 10000:1 ratio of Cubeb volatile oil, sealed fumigation for 6 days, its mold content will be greatly reduced.

The storage life of licorice should not be too long. Some people have studied licorice in different storage periods and found that storage time has a direct effect on the content of licorice, which decreases with the extension of storage time. The storage time of licorice for 1 year is 5.12%, 2 years is 4.24%, and 3 years is 3.08%. It can be seen that the longer licorice is stored, the greater the loss of effective ingredients. Therefore, licorice products should be sold as soon as they are collected, and should not be stored for too long.
