Value and use of oleander
Oleander plant shape is round, leaves such as bamboo like willow, flowers like peach non-peach, beautiful flowers, evergreen four seasons, quite ornamental value. "the cloth leaves are suspicious of bamboo, and the flowers are as tender as peaches; savages never get tired of seeing them, when it comes to tree mash." Thus it can be seen from the ancient poems that oleander has been a popular ornamental flower since ancient times. Oleander has been cultivated in nearly 90 countries and is regarded as a fast-growing tree species because of its fast growth. Algeria also designated it as the national flower.
Oleander stems and leaves contain oleander cardiotonic glycosides, which can extract cardiotonic agents and have the effects of diuresis, analgesia, expectorant and asthma. Stem bark fiber is an excellent blended raw material, seeds can be made into lubricating oil, stems and leaves can also be used to produce pesticides. In particular, it has a strong anti-pollution ability, can absorb sulfur dioxide and other harmful gases and dust, purify the air, and is an ideal greening tree species in factory and mining areas. Oleander cardiotonic glycosides contained in trapped stems and leaves are not carcinogens, but accidental ingestion of humans and animals can be fatal. Therefore, it is best not to plant in kindergartens, schools, hospitals, residential areas and courtyards.
Industrial raw materials: oleander seeds contain 58.5% oil, which can be pressed to produce lubricating oil.
Textile raw materials: the stem bark fiber of oleander is an excellent blending material.
Medicinal value: modern medical research has proved that oleander leaves contain oleander glycosides, glycosides and other substances, flowers contain digitalis glycosides, aglycone, peach glycosides and other components. They have significant cardiotonic and diuretic, sweating, emetic and analgesic effects, and their effects are similar to digitalis and belong to chronic cardiotonic glycosides. It is reported that the water decoction of oleander has been applied to heart failure caused by various causes and achieved good results. Oleander bitter cold, toxic, can be used for the treatment of heart disease, heart failure, amenorrhea, can also be used for fall injury, blood stasis swelling pain and other diseases.
Environmental value: oleander has the ability to resist smoke, dust, poison, purify the air and protect the environment. Oleander leaves have strong resistance to sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, chlorine and other toxic and harmful gases. According to the determination, the oleander planted in the pot was only slightly damaged at 40 meters from the pollution source, but basically harmless at 170 meters, and could still blossom normally, and the sulfur content in its leaves was more than 7 times higher than that of the uncontaminated ones. Oleander, even if covered with dust, can still grow vigorously, and is called the "guardian of environmental protection".

The symptom spot occurs at the edge or middle of the leaf, semicircular or round. When several disease spots are connected, they are corrugated, both positive and negative, and the front is darker than the back, and the disease spot is grayish white or grayish brown; in the later stage, a black powdery mildew layer is produced in the disease spot, which usually occurs on the overwintering leaves. The pathogen is fungus, Alternariasp. The conidia are olive-colored, oval, longitudinally and horizontally separated, chain-shaped, and borne on longer conidiophores. The general law of the disease is the old leaf and the lower part.
