L, diagnosis

Due to the complex clinical symptoms of canine distemper, it is often accompanied by mixed infection or secondary infection. Therefore, attention should be paid to distinguish it from rabies, typhoid, infectious hepatitis and leptospirosis. (1) the difference between canine distemper and rabies: canine distemper has no laryngeal masseter paralysis, no aggressive (2) and typhoid: caused by salmonella, effective treatment with antibiotics and sulfonamides, splenomegaly is examined, while canine distemper has both respiratory symptoms and rash, neurological symptoms, antibiotic treatment is ineffective: (3) the difference from infectious hepatitis Temporary corneal opacity, prolonged clotting time after hemorrhage, characteristic liver lesions and bleeding-like exudates in the body, but no such changes in canine distemper; (4) the difference from leptospirosis: no respiratory tract and conjunctivitis, with obvious anthrax.

2. Prevention and treatment

Only healthy foxes can be immunized. Young foxes are first immunized at 1 month old, second at 50 days old, and again at 70 days old. Adult foxes are immunized twice a year at an interval of one month, preferably before spring. At present, there are no specific treatment methods at home and abroad, according to many years of clinical practice, the author thinks that the following methods can be adopted for foxes with typical neurological symptoms. (1) intramuscular injection of immunoglobulin (lg), 5ml / time, and (2) intramuscular injection of high rabbit serum, 3 times, 5ml / time. At the same time, sulfonamides and antibiotics are used to control the complications caused by bacteria, and some severe cases can be given intravenously to delay the course of the disease and promote recovery. When serous conjunctivitis occurs, use chloramphenicol eye drops; when enteritis occurs, oxytetracycline can be injected in the feed, adult fox 1 tablet / time, twice a day, or intramuscular injection of micronomycin 1 ml / time, 2 times / day; when complicated with pneumonia, penicillium can be used, adult fox 500000 units / time, twice continuously or lincomycin intramuscular injection, adult fox morning and evening, 2 ml / time. Isolate the foxes that have occurred canine distemper, do a good job in disinfection of cages and utensils, strengthen feeding management, fix utensils, boil and disinfect regularly, and vaccinate the whole group as soon as possible.
