Avoid green onion, short and thin air, management can not be loose in the coming year.
Green onions are one of the indispensable varieties of vegetables on the dining table. In the eyes of consumers, green onions which are white, long, thick and not easy to be hollow are really good onions.
First, the reason why green onions are short, thin and easy to be hollow
1. Variety type. Green onions can be divided into two types: long white and short white. The length of green onions is related to the variety. Changbai varieties should be used in production.
2. Soil quality and cultivation conditions. The selected plot is clayey, shallow and not fine, the soil is not cultivated in time during the growth period, and the soil at the bottom of the root is hardened. Shallow planting, small row spacing, insufficient base fertilizer, not much topdressing; no irrigation conditions, all rely on natural rainfall, once encountered drought, green onions will be de-fertilized and dehydrated.
3. The harvest is not timely. After harvest, the nutrients stored in the white onions are transferred downwards, and the upper part of the green onions lose water and become soft; in order to grab the market, most of the green onions will become empty after drying because the nutrients in the green leaves have not yet been transferred to the green onions.
II. Preventive measures and integrated management
1. Select excellent varieties of Changbai scallions, such as Zhangqiu scallions, cereal scallions (whip scallions) and so on.
2. Select the land with deep soil layer, fertile soil and good drainage, and plough fine rake deeply, generally ploughing more than 30 cm, digging 20 cm 30 cm deep, 15 cm 30 cm wide, and furrow distance 70 cm 80 cm wide, in order to cultivate soil. Before planting, ditch fertilization, 1000-5000 kg per mu of farm manure, and then deep loosening furrow, so that the combination of dung and soil.
3. When planting between Grain in Beard and Lesser Heat, it should be early and not late. If the green onion formation period is short, the onion white is short, thin, and the yield is low. At the same time, the seedlings are easy to grow, and it is not easy to slow the seedlings in hot weather after planting.
4. When planting onions, you should plant them deeply and bury them shallowly in order to cultivate the soil in stages. Generally, the distance between plants is 1 cm, and the soil is about 8 cm. The standard is that the heart leaves of onion seedlings are not buried. Green onion seedlings should be selected before planting, with a stem diameter of about 1 cm, 3-4 leaves, 30-40 cm high and free of diseases and insect pests.
5. Strengthen the cultivation and management. It is the slow seedling oversummer period before the Beginning of Autumn after planting. In a semi-dormant state, ploughing should be strengthened to preserve soil moisture and promote root development. it is best not to water the soil if the soil is not dry. After the Beginning of Autumn, before White Dew, the plant entered the peak period of leaf development, and the fertilizer and water management should be strengthened from late August to late September. 15 kg urea per mu should be applied in time to bury, cultivate and irrigate the soil. After White Dew entered the green onion growing period, fertilization was mainly quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer, watering should be frequently irrigated, re-watering, and often keep the soil moist. To meet the needs of green onion growth.
6. Cultivate the soil in combination with mid-tillage. It is necessary to cultivate the ridges and ditches a little before the rainy season to prevent the roots from rotting caused by stagnant water in the planting ditches. Soil cultivation is an effective measure to increase the length of green onion every 10-15 days after autumn, for a total of 3 times. The first time to shallow culture, in order to raise the ground temperature, the last two times more soil, especially the last time as high as possible, do not exceed the heart leaves.
7. Be careful that the leaves stop growing. The suitable harvest time is 15-20 days before the soil is frozen, usually from Frosts Descent to the Beginning of Winter.

What are the ecological characteristics of Lycoris radiata?
Lycoris radiata, also known as cockroach flower and Laojiao garlic, belongs to perennial herbaceous flowers of Amaryllidaceae. It originated to the south of Qinling Mountains in China, and it is most common in the Yangtze River Basin and southwest China. Born in cool, moist and humus rock crevices, like fertile and moist soil, cold-resistant, good drainage is required. Bulb propagation should be planted once a year in 3 to 4 years. When planting, break off the daughter bulb on the edge of the mother bulb or cut it off with a sharp knife for separate planting. Keep the soil moist after planting and don't water too much so as not to rot the bulbs. Chase before sprouting
