It originated to the south of Qinling Mountains in China, and it is most common in the Yangtze River Basin and southwest China. Born in cool, moist and humus rock crevices, like fertile and moist soil, cold-resistant, good drainage is required. Bulb propagation should be planted once a year in 3 to 4 years. When planting, break off the daughter bulb on the edge of the mother bulb or cut it off with a sharp knife for separate planting.
