Last Updated: 2024/09/20, Lentinus edodes is composed of mycelium and fruiting body. The mycelium is formed by spore germination, white fluffy, with transverse septum and branches, 2 ~ 4 nm in diameter, the mycelium grows and propagates continuously with each other, and the synthetic mycelium is cobweb-shaped. The mycelium is the vegetative organ of Lentinus edodes, which is equivalent to the roots, stems and leaves of higher plants. Any part of the tissue of Lentinus edodes is composed of hyphae, which can germinate new hyphae under suitable conditions, and grow and differentiate into fruiting bodies (Lentinus edodes). The fruiting body of Lentinus edodes is

Lentinus edodes consists of mycelium and fruiting body. Mycelium is germinated from spores, white velvety, with septa and branches, 2~4 nm thick, mycelia combine with each other to grow and reproduce continuously, assembled into mycelium in spider web shape, mycelium is the vegetative organ of mushroom, equivalent to the roots, stems and leaves of higher plants. Any part of the mushroom tissue is composed of hyphae. Under suitable conditions, new hyphae can germinate and gradually develop into fruiting bodies (mushroom).

Lentinus edodes fruiting body is composed of three parts: cap, pleat and stipe. Fungus cap semi-fleshy, 3~15 cm in diameter, flat hemisphere, gradually spread out, yellow-brown to dark cinnamon, with scales. The flesh is thick and white, the pleats are white, dense and curved. The stipe is middle to partial, white, fruited, often curved, 3~5 cm long, 0.5~0.8 cm in diameter, the part below the ring is often covered with scales, and the ring is narrow and easy to disappear. Spores are colorless, smooth, oval.
