Bonsai taboo pruning
Bonsai trees, in order to make the tree beautiful, some branches that grow improperly, that is, the so-called taboo branches, are pruned to make them have a clear hierarchy and achieve one scene at a time.
(1) whorled branches. Whorled branches mean that they grow in all directions at the same point in the trunk, such as the shape of a wheel. For the treatment of whorled branches, according to the need for the shape of the tree, keep 1 branch, up to 2 branches, and cut off the rest of the branches.
(2) opposite branches. The opposite branch grows on both sides of a part of the trunk, such as the latch is inserted into the trunk, and the treatment of the branch is sufficient to meet the needs of styling, keep one branch and cut off one branch.
(3) axillary branches. The axillary branch refers to the branch that grows concave in the branch. The axillary branch often blocks the place of the branch point, or fills the space of the curved part, causing visual clutter and can be cut off.
(4) Bend some branches. The curved branch grows on the convex point of the curved branch, destroying the graceful curve of the branch. Under normal circumstances, it can be retained, but if you want to highlight the graceful arc of the branch, you must cut it off.
(5) apical branch. The top branch is the branch of the tree facing the audience. If it needs to be retained as a front branch, it should be tied to the left or right to extend, or the tree should be turned in the basin and then planted so that the branch does not point to the audience.
(6) close branches. The intimate branches stick to the branches growing on the trunk, resulting in the division of the trunk and destroying the beauty of fluency. The spatial relationship between it and the trunk can be modified by banding, otherwise it will have to be cut off.
(7) parallel branches. Parallel branches refer to the branches growing in the same direction at two points on the same side of the trunk. The branches above the parallel branches cover up the daylighting of the lower branches and give people the same feeling of no change. According to the needs of modeling, cut off one of the two branches and keep one, or tie the two branches into the wrong place to add changes in the shape of the branches.
(8) reverse branch. The reverse branch refers to the individual branches with the opposite trend in the branch group, the growth direction should be left but inclined to the right, and the upward branch should be downward, which can be tied or pruned.
(9) big belly branch. The big belly branch refers to the transition of the branch from thick to thin, highlighting the inflated branch, so it appears to be very disharmonious. The cause of the big belly branch is that there is a foreign body in the foot branch. for example, if the wire trapped in the branch is trapped in the branch, it is possible to form this branch. in this case, it is better to prune it. In case it cannot be trimmed in shape, the foreign body should be removed, gouged out to remove the bulging part and bandage the bark wound so that it can grow and heal.

Turn over the bonsai and change the soil
The turning of bonsai trees can be determined according to the following aspects: (1) in general, small bonsai is turned once every 1-2 years, medium bonsai every 2-3 years, and large bonsai every 5 years. If it is an old tree pile scene, you can turn the basin every few years. (2) the tree species with exuberant growth and like fertilizer have more times of turning pots and shorter interval years, while those species with slow growth and less fertilizer need less pots turning times and longer interval years. The old pile scene of pine and cypress should not be turned over more. (3) the tree species with luxuriant branches and leaves and well-developed roots should turn the pot frequently.
