At present, most silkworms reared in our province are four-dormant silkworms. Under normal green and feeding conditions, four-sleeping silkworms should sleep four times in a generation. However, if the rearing conditions are bad, the silkworms may sleep only three times in a generation, resulting in less mulberry consumption, smaller cocoon shape and lower yield.
The reasons for four-sleep silkworms to sleep only three times are: green under low temperature, dry and dark conditions of about 20 ℃; juvenile silkworm receiving more than 12 hours of light in one day; feeding mulberry leaves that are too tender or too high in protein content; silkworm eggs are not protected by heating and are directly placed under the natural temperature to make up for green, resulting in long-term exposure to high temperature in the process of rearing and so on.
To prevent the emergence of three-sleeping silkworms, we should do the following five points: (1) must go to the sericulture technology promotion and service department, that is, the main channel to order species. (2) the youth promotion must be made up as required. After the silkworm eggs are reclaimed, they should be green at an appropriate temperature, the air should not be too dry, the humidity should be controlled at about 80%, and pay attention to the protection of darkness. (3) it is necessary to pay attention to the fertilizer management of mulberry garden based on organic fertilizer and the combination of organic and inorganic. The partial application of nitrogen fertilizer in mulberry garden is easy to make the protein content in mulberry leaves too high. After eating this kind of mulberry leaves, silkworms are easy to sleep three times. (4) keep good leaf quality, especially in the process of rearing young silkworms, not to feed the tender mulberry leaves, but mainly to feed them with suitable mature leaves. (5) avoid long-term exposure to high temperature of more than 30 ℃ in the process of feeding, and do a good job of heat prevention and cooling in high temperature weather.
