Rice-Jiayu 46
Recently, the crop Variety approval Committee of Zhejiang Province approved 30 new crop varieties (combinations), including "Jiayu 46", and recommended them to farmers all over the province. In order to make the majority of farmers better understand these new varieties (combinations).
The average yield per mu of this variety reached 461.5 kg in 2002 and 2003, 7.41% higher than that of the control "Jiayu 293"; the average two-year whole growth period was 110.3 days; in the provincial regional test in two years, the average effective panicle per mu was 201000, the number of filled grains per panicle was 106.2, the seed setting rate was 72.3%, and the 1000-grain weight was 22.9g. According to the identification results of the Institute of Plant Protection of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences from 2002 to 2003, the average leaf blast, ear blast, ear blast loss rate and bacterial blight were 0.5, 3, 5.2% and 9 respectively.
The variety has compact plant type, late mid-maturity, medium tillering ability, high plant, large panicle and many grains, good high yield, good color conversion in the later stage, medium resistance to rice blast, susceptibility to bacterial blight and medium rice quality. It is suitable for planting early rice in the whole province.

Usage of Daojie
