Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Rice leaf curler is one of the main rice pests in our province. It harms rice leaves with larvae, which can make rice leaves withered and white, especially at booting stage or heading stage, which will greatly reduce rice yield. The insect occurs for seven generations a year, and the number of larvae of the second generation in early rice is the most serious. If the control is not timely, it will occur greatly during heading, resulting in inestimable losses. The prediction of rice longitudinal leaf curl should be based on the prediction of occurrence period to determine the suitable period for control. According to the previous situation, it should be at the peak of the moth.

Rice leaf roller is one of the main pests of rice in our province. It damages rice leaves with larvae, which can make rice leaves dry and white, especially at booting stage or heading stage, and will greatly reduce rice yield. The insect has seven generations in a year. The number of larvae in the second generation of early rice is the most, and the damage is the most serious. If the control is not timely, it will occur during the heading period, causing incalculable losses.

The prediction of occurrence period should be used to determine the suitable control period for rice leaf roller. According to the past situation, the investigation should be started 4 days after the peak of moth emergence, once every 2 weeks, pay close attention to the progress of larval occurrence, when the 1~2 instar larvae account for about 70% of the total, or every 100 families have about 15 buds, that is, the appropriate period for control. Because this time is the larval peak incubation period, master in the peak incubation period when the larvae are the weakest, but also larvae concentrated on the base of the heart leaf feeding, if the pesticide sprayed to the base of the heart leaf, that is, most of the larvae can be killed, the effect is the best. If the pesticide is applied late, the larvae are already trapped in the leaf tube, and the application effect is poor.

In order to get the best effect of this insect control, we must choose the corresponding pesticide to spray. In the larval incubation period, 200ml of 25% bisultap solution plus 50ml of 40% dimethoate EC or 100~ 125ml of 20% frog EC mixed with 60kg of water can be sprayed to kill the larvae. The control effect is better.
