Shimai 12
Shimai 12 is a dwarf resistant, high and stable yield variety selected by the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. After it was approved by Hebei Province in 2004 (approval number: Ji Xianmai 2004004), it was listed as the preferred variety in 2005 by the National Grain High yield Science and Technology Project because of its advantages of high yield, water saving and disease resistance. It was introduced into our province in 2006 (Yu Yinzi 2006001).
The yield structure of this variety is reasonable, the panicle rate of high and stable yield is high, the number of ears per mu is easy to reach 500000, the number of grains per ear is about 34, and the 1000-grain weight is about 44 grams. Participated in the national and Hebei regional trials from 2003 to 2004, involving 42 sites in 5 provinces, the average yield per mu was 525kg, the highest yield per mu reached 670.91 kg, and the large-scale production demonstration from 2003 to 2004 showed that the yield per mu was more than 500kg. As the preferred variety of "National Grain High yield Science and Technology Project" in 2005, it was planted in multiple sites in the middle and south of Hebei Province, showing the characteristics of lodging resistance, disease resistance and many ears.
The variety has strong lodging resistance and is suitable for planting in medium and high fertility plots with compact plant type, flag leaves, short and elegant leaves, well-developed root system, tough stem and good elasticity. After many years of plot experiments and large-scale demonstration, the variety was planted in medium and high fertility plots. There is no lodging phenomenon.
Strong disease resistance, conducive to stable production of the variety high resistance to stripe disease and leaf blight, medium resistance to powdery mildew, resistance to dry and hot wind, good yellowing.
Strong cold resistance in 2003 Hebei Province regional test cold resistance identification, the overwintering rate was 99.8%; the national Huang-Huai wheat region north regional test cold resistance identification, the overwintering rate was 100%. In the process of large-scale demonstration and popularization from 2001 to 2005, no freezing injury occurred in the suitable sowing period.
