Last Updated: 2024/11/24, With the current increase in cattle and sheep stocks year by year, as well as large-scale land development and cultivation, resulting in a sharp decline in the original grazing grassland. Therefore, solving the problem of winter and spring forage for cattle and sheep is the primary problem for the development of animal husbandry in each farming and pastoral farm. In the face of large-scale picked cotton straw, livestock farmers can only scatter cattle and sheep in the ground according to the old method and let them eat freely, resulting in a large amount of waste of resources. In order to make better use of cotton straw and achieve the effect of returning the abdomen to the field, a set of methods for scientifically feeding ruminant livestock with cotton straw were summarized.

With the current stock of cattle and sheep increasing year by year, as well as a large area of land development and farming, resulting in a sharp decrease in the original grazing pasture. Therefore, to solve the problem of cattle and sheep forage in winter and spring is the primary problem for the development of animal husbandry in agricultural and animal husbandry farms, and in the face of large areas of picked cotton straw, livestock farmers can only scatter cattle and sheep in the ground according to the old way, allowing them to feed freely, resulting in a lot of waste of resources. In order to make better use of cotton straw and achieve the effect of returning to the field through abdomen, a set of scientific feeding method of ruminants with cotton straw was summarized. The feeding effect was remarkable by livestock farmers in our regiment, which is worth popularizing on a large scale.

First, drying the straw

The cotton straw confirmed to be mildew-free after thorough drying was collected, stored, stacked and prepared.

Second, straw crushing

It is processed by a sieve grinder with a diameter hole of 1 cm, and the straw particles are suitable for feeding and digestion of cattle and sheep.

III. Blister filtration

The crushed straw particles were treated to soften forage crude fiber, promote digestion and remove forage impurities. Generally, the crushed straw particles are soaked for 4 hours and 5 hours, that is, the method of feeding the upper meal and then soaking the next meal is used. Filter after bubble to remove impurities.

Fourth, bubble grass treatment

The grass that has been soaked and filtered is treated according to the following procedure.

1. Add concentrate, such as corn meal or wheat bran, to 5%-10% of the hay to enhance the palatability of livestock and improve nutrients.

two。 Supplement urea to increase non-protein nitrogen, make full use of ruminant rumen bacteria to decompose nitrogen, and synthesize bacterial protein, so that livestock can absorb and utilize, so as to achieve the purpose of supplying protein nutrition to livestock. The amount of urea added is 1% or 2% of the amount of hay and concentrate added.

3. Add compound vitamin powder as required to supplement dry matter vitamins. Vitamin A can prevent urethral calculi caused by urethral epithelial keratosis caused by long-term feeding of cotton straw; vitamin E can enhance oxidation function and ensure the normal development of livestock breeding function; vitamin C has detoxification function and can detoxify toxins in cotton straw.

5. Mix the forage evenly and put it into the tank to feed the livestock.

6. Ensure an adequate supply of drinking water for livestock.

5. Experience

1. Although cotton straw is a forage grass with high Lignification crude fiber content, it can improve the palatability and feed intake of livestock after treatment.

two。 To achieve the current promotion of long grass short feeding, short grass fine feeding effect, make full use of resources, minimize waste.

3. Feeding livestock scientifically can not only meet all kinds of nutrition and fat gain of livestock, but also do not affect the reproduction of livestock and has no toxic side effects.
