Scientific name: Kalanchoetomentosa

Alias: moon rabbit ear

Family and genus: Sedum family

Place of origin:

Native to Madagascar, Africa, dry areas of Central America.

Morphological features:

The brown spot Jialan plant is covered with tomentose, fleshy leaves, shaped like rabbit ears.

The edge of the leaf is covered with dark brown markings, very similar to the panda, so it is also known as the panda plant.

Growth habits:

Like warm, dry and sunny environment. Not resistant to cold, drought and moisture. The soil should be rich and loose sandy loam. The winter temperature is not lower than 10 ℃. The brown spot is blue, the leaves are tomentose, like the ears of a rabbit, gray-white, with brown spots between them, easy to branch, and grow vigorously from late autumn to early spring. The branches are thin and weak, and the villi are dull, which is not conducive to the formation of brown spots on the leaf surface. Sandy loam is required, but fertilizer is not required. Cut off the branches to dry and cut into the soil, and many branches will grow where they are cut off.

To breed:

Twig and leaf cuttings can be used. When cutting off the lateral branches in the growing season and drying for 2 hours, the twigs can be directly cut in the culture soil and easily take root. Leaf insertion, mass reproduction can be used this method, in the growing season to cut the growth of full leaves, can be divided into 2mur3 segments, and then spread the leaves on the loam or peat soil, the leaves slightly pressed down, put into the semi-shade for maintenance, after 20 days can produce roots, and then grow adventitious buds in the rooting site, and can be planted when 5 leaves grow.

Cultivation:

Just potted or change pots, watering should not be much, in order to keep slightly dry. If the basin soil is too wet or too dry, it will cause the atrophy and shedding of the basal leaves and affect the ornamental effect. The growth period should be sunny and shaded properly in summer, but it is too shady, the stems and leaves are weak, and the villi lack luster. Move indoor maintenance in winter, should put in front of the window with plenty of sunshine.

Diseases and insect pests:

There is the harm of wilt and leaf spot, spray with 50% gram carbendan 800 times solution. Pests are harmful to scale insects and whiteflies and can be sprayed with 1000 times of omethoate EC.

Application:

Commonly used in potted plants to watch, use it to decorate the guest room, endless fun.
