It is a new variety bred by the Horticulture Department of Zhejiang Agricultural University. The parent is Huangmi pear × Zaosanhua, which was crossed in 1962 and signed in 1971 as a popularized variety.
It has been popularized and mainly planted in Zhejiang Province, and trial planting has been carried out in 23 provinces (cities), such as Fujian, Hunan, Hubei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi and Gansu. The response has been good in many places. The cultivated area has reached more than 20,000 mu.
The fruit is medium-sized, the average weight of a single fruit is about 130 grams, and the large fruit can reach 256 grams. The fruit is broad conical, the pericarp is yellowish brown, the fruit surface is slightly rough, and the fruit spot is medium-large and medium-sized. Fruiting pedicel 3.3 cm long, 3 mm thick; pedicel depression moderately deep and narrow, with ribbed processes. The heart is large or small, with 5 ventricles. The flesh is white, the flesh is medium-sewn, crisp, less stone cells, more juice, sweet or sour, medium or high quality. Contains 11.8%-14.5% soluble solids. In Xingcheng, Liaoning Province, the fruit matured in late August, which is a medium-ripe crispy meat variety that can be eaten fresh and not resistant to storage, and can be stored for about 20 days at room temperature.
The plant has a strong growth potential, with a height of 3.45 meters, a stem circumference of 31 centimeters and a crown diameter of 3 meters × 3.98 meters. The sprouting power is strong, the bud germination rate is 74.64%, and the branching power is medium. Generally, 2 or 3 long branches are produced under the cut mouth.
The beginning fruiting age is early, and it can bear fruit 2-3 years after planting; it is easy to form flower buds and short fruit branches, mainly short fruit branches, and the proportion of all kinds of fruit branches is 77.98% for short fruit branches, 12.95% for long fruit branches and 9.07% for medium fruit branches. Strong continuous fruit, high and stable yield, 3-year-old trees yield 12 kg, up to 30 dry grams. The size of the year is not obvious, the fruit drop before harvest is light.
In Jianyang, Fujian, flower buds germinate from late February to early March, bloom from late March to early April, fruit ripens in the first and middle of August, and leaves fall in the middle of November. The days of fruit development and vegetative growth were 125 days and 250 days respectively.
Pollination varieties: new Century, Cuifu, Laikang, Huangmi. The variety has strong adaptability and lax requirements for soil conditions, and grows well in mountainous area, acid red loam or alkaline soil. Strong resistance to diseases and insect pests, tolerance to rough management.
The fruit is medium-large, high-yielding and stable, which is a good mid-ripe variety and resistant to transportation. All parts of the south can develop in an appropriate amount.
