1 clinical symptoms

The most acute duck died suddenly without seeing the symptoms. The main clinical manifestations of acute cases are: depression, lack of food, refusing to eat, lying on a couple, soft legs, unwilling to walk, ataxia, spasmodic nodding movement upward and backward when lying on the ground, some turning forward and backward, some singing, it is not easy to turn upside down after overturning, and some head and neck bend is about 90 °turn. The course of the disease usually lasts for 2 days.

2 pathological autopsy

The pathological changes of the ducks in these two cases were basically the same, and the main pathological changes were as follows:

(1) Heart disease: in acute cases, pericardial fluid increased, the surface of epicardium was covered with yellowish cellulose exudate, and the heart of patients with slow course of disease was wrapped by yellowish fiber.

(2) liver lesions: the liver was yellowish or brownish red, swollen and brittle, and the gallbladder was enlarged.

(3) Air bag lesion: in some cases, the air bag was covered with cellulose membrane.

(4) Musculogastric lesions: there was bleeding in the solid section of the myogastric part, and some horniness was easy to peel off.

3Diagnostic

According to the changes of clinical symptoms and pathological features of infected ducks, infectious serositis was diagnosed preliminarily.

4 treatment

(1) Human gentamicin was given to diseased ducks, 0.5ml was given to each duck, and injected into chest muscle twice a day for 2 days.

(2) all healthy ducks were given prophylactic intramuscular injection of gentamicin twice a day for 2 days.

(3) through timely use of medicine and improvement of feeding conditions, and disinfect the contaminated site. The disease was controlled on the first day, no disease was found on the third day, and no sick duck occurred on the seventh day of the return visit.
