According to the instructions, the dosage of 10% benzenesulfuron was less than 15 grams per mu. He heard that tribenuron-methyl, chlorosulfuron-methyl and metsulfuron-methyl belong to the same class of herbicides, and the residual periods of chlorosulfuron and metsulfuron-methyl are all very long, which often cause residual damage to subsequent crops. I don't know how long the residual period of tribenuron-methyl is, and whether cotton planted in the field sprayed before winter will be affected by drug residues. Benzenesulfuron is a common herbicide to control broad-leaf weeds in wheat field. It can be used in wheat and barley from 2-leaf stage to jointing stage. Generally, about 40 days after wheat sowing or spraying after the wheat seedlings turn green in spring, the effect period is long. One application before winter can control the weeds in the peak period of weeds before winter and after spring. Tribenuron-methyl, chlorosulfuron-methyl and metsulfuron-methyl all belong to sulfonylurea herbicides, but compared with herbicides with long residual period, such as chlorosulfuron and metsulfuron-methyl, the residual period of benzosulfuron-methyl is shorter and can disappear rapidly in soil by hydrolysis. the residual period is generally 30-60 days, taking into account the impact on cotton, peanuts, soybeans and other sensitive crops.

Cotton seedlings were raised in the fields that had been used in spring, because of the short interval after spraying and the sensitivity of cotton seedlings to benzenesulfuron, it was easy to cause drug damage. There has been such a precedent in production. A few years ago, there were hundreds of mu of direct seeding cotton in Rudong that died seriously. All the heavily injured cotton seedlings withered, and the lightly injured ones also withered more than 60%. Later, according to the analysis of relevant experts, the main cause of the accident was that local farmers applied benzenesulfuron to the previous crop of barley in March and began to plant cotton directly in early April, and the residue caused drug damage to cotton seedlings. as a result, the cotton began to die soon after it emerged in mid-May.

The use of benzenesulfuron before winter took a few months from the use of medicine to the subsequent planting of cotton. If there is no excessive use of medicine, it will generally not cause drug damage to the subsequent cotton, especially the transplanted cotton, which is less vulnerable to drug damage because of its large seedling body. However, it should be noted that at present, some benzenesulfuron-methyl products are adulterated and the purity of the products is not high, and a small number of products are mixed with herbicides such as metsulfuron-methyl and chlorosulfuron, which are prone to drug harm to subsequent crops. when buying benzosulfuron-methyl, you must choose the products of regular enterprises.

Benzenesulfuron is an internal absorption and transmission herbicide, which can be absorbed by plants all over the body. Sensitive plants transmit upward and downward from stems, leaves and roots after being treated, which hinders protein synthesis, stagnates growth and eventually dies. Under the suitable temperature conditions, the damage symptoms of sensitive plants were as follows: stop growing in about 1 day, chlorosis and yellowing of young leaves in 7 days, necrosis of growth point and heart leaves in 2-3 weeks, and death of the whole plant after 3-4 weeks. In order to determine whether the soil contains residual drugs harmful to cotton seedlings, a small amount of soil can be sowed to cultivate cotton seedlings to see if there are any abnormalities in the fields where benzosulfuron has been applied.
