Botanical characteristics of different species of Angelica sinensis
There are more than 40 species of Angelica plants in China, some of which have similar effects to Angelica sinensis, a few varieties are also used as medicine in some areas, and the main varieties are Radix angelicae Sinensis and Angelica Sinensis. In addition, there are some counterfeits similar to Angelica sinensis but with different effects in commodities, which have been found as Angelica sinensis, Radix angelicae Sinensis, Radix angelicae Sinensis. As a commodity purchase and clinical application, Angelica sinensis and confused varieties must be identified in terms of characters. The commonly used Angelica sinensis are:
1. Angelica sinensis, also known as Radix angelicae Sinensis, Radix angelicae Sinensis and Angelica sinensis, is the dried root of the perennial plant [AugelicaSinensis (Oliv) Diels] of Umbelliferae, and is the authentic product of Angelica sinensis.
Angelica sinensis is 15ml 25cm long, slightly cylindrical, yellowish brown or dark brown on the surface, with longitudinal wrinkles and transverse oval lenticels, with oily feeling. The head is slightly dilated, ringed, the top is round and obtuse, and there are purple or yellowish green residual leaf sheaths and stem roots. The body is thick and short, with a length of 1mi 3cm, with 5 or more branches in the lower part, thick at the top and thin at the bottom, and more twisted. The texture is flexible, the cross section is yellowish brown, the cortical color is light to light white, the quality of pine is cracked, the phloem is darker, there are brown oil spots, the cambium is brown, annular, the wood is lighter, has brown radial texture, and the central pith is very large, showing white. There is a strong aroma, taste sweet, slightly bitter.
2. Radix angelicae Sinensis is the dried root of AngelicaAcutiloba (SiebetZucc) Kitag of Umbelliferae. Radix angelicae Sinensis has the same sexual temperature, bitter taste and the same effect as Angelica sinensis. It mainly produces Jilin, which is used by the Korean nationality in Jilin Province.
The root is slightly cylindrical, the surface is khaki, tan or brown, the body surface has fine longitudinal wrinkles and transverse protruding lenticular scars or branch root scars. The main root is thick and short, the root head is dilated, there are fine rings, the top center is sunken or slightly sunken, and there are yellowish or yellowish-white petiole and stem base scars. Crisp when dry, neatly folded section, white leather, yellowish white or yellowish brown xylem, forming a yellowish brown ring. The fragrant smell is sweet and then bitter.
There are the following types of counterfeits, which should be identified:
1. Danggui Levism Office Koch is a counterfeit of Angelica sinensis, which is different from Angelica sinensis. Overdose will cause vomiting, dizziness and other uncomfortable symptoms.
The root is slightly cylindrical, with a total length of 20ml / 35cm, with a grayish brown surface, with longitudinal wrinkles and horizontal lenticular scars, dry and without oily feeling. The head is relatively inflated, with 5 clustered stem residues of 2 Mel. The main root is thick and long, generally about 10 cm long, and there are several branches in the lower part, which are more straight. The texture is slightly flexible, the cross section is brown, the cambium is grayish brown or brown, annular, the xylem is yellow, and the central pulp is light yellow or yellowish white. When it is semi-dry, there is the aroma of Angelica sinensis. After drying, the gas is thin, the taste is slightly sweet and the tongue is numb.
2. PeucedanumDecursiuum (Miq.) Maxim is called Angelica sinensis, Angelica sinensis or wild Angelica sinensis in some areas, which is one of the counterfeits of Angelica sinensis in ancient times.
The main root is irregularly conical, with a length of 3 mi 6 cm and a diameter of 1.8 mi 2 cm, with brown surface, longitudinal wrinkles, leaf base scars at the top, and several branched roots below. The branch root is 9 cm long and 0.5 mi 0.8 cm in diameter, with longitudinal wrinkles and lenticular scars protruding transversely. Hard or flexible, easy to break, brown in cross section and yellowish brown in xylem. Without the aroma of Angelica sinensis, the taste is slightly spicy.
3. AngelicaPubescensMaximf.biserrataShanEtYuan of Angelica sinensis is produced in Hubei, Sichuan and other provinces. It is one of the counterfeit products of Angelica sinensis. Its dried root is a traditional Chinese medicine and can not be used as Angelica sinensis.
The root is slightly cylindrical, 10 mi 30 cm long and 1 mi 3 cm in diameter. The tip is flat and round, with dense annular stem and leaf residues or sunken stem scars, and there are 5 branches in the lower part. The surface is grayish brown or brown, rough, with prominent longitudinal wrinkles and protruding lenticels. The texture is hard, the moisture absorption becomes soft, the cross-section skin is gray-white, there are cracks, and there are yellowish brown to brown oil spots scattered, the forming layer shows brown band, and the xylem is yellow. With special aroma, bitter taste, pungent, slightly numb tongue.
4. LigusticumGlaulescensFr. It is a fake of Angelica sinensis.
The root is conical, with one or more branches, and dichotomous branches are common. The taproot is 3.5 cm long and 3 cm in diameter. The branch roots vary in length and have a diameter of 0.4 mi 0.8 cm. The surface is brown, reddish brown or black-brown, the root head is transversely ringed, there are remnants or holes of petiole and stem at the top, all full or some have longitudinal wrinkles or lenticular scars. The quality is hard and the cross section is yellow and white. Slightly angelica-like aroma, taste slightly sweet and bitter, slightly numb tongue.
5. Daduhuo AugelicaGigasNakai is a fake of Angelica sinensis.
The root head is short and thick, 2 mi 5 cm long and 2 mi 3 cm in diameter. There are horizontal rings on the surface, leaf base marks on the top, and several branches below. The branch root is 15 cm in length and 0.5 cm in diameter. There are longitudinal wrinkles and most lateral protruding lenticular scars on the surface. And the exudation of brown sticky resin-like substance can be seen. The texture is crisp, the skin of the section is gray-white, and the xylem is yellow-white. The breath is fragrant, the taste is slightly sweet and then hard.
