In the process of artificial raising scorpion, timely collection, processing, storage and sale is an important link to make full use of space, save bait, speed up capital turnover and increase added value. This work should be carried out 7 days before the pregnant scorpion is born. The method is to retain the adult pregnant scorpion and high-quality seed scorpion, and to collect and process the rest of the mating male scorpion, the female scorpion that has given birth for more than 3 years, and some scorpions with stump, disease and emaciation as commercial scorpions.

1 processing method

1.1 before the processing of the salty scorpion, put the scorpion in a cold water basin to wash off the soil from the scorpion and discharge the feces from the body, but the time should not be too long to prevent drowning the scorpion. Then, rinse several times, clean and then put into the salt water pot, to soak the scorpion in salt water, press it with a bamboo curtain and soak for 6 hours for 12 hours. Boil the water and boil the scorpion in boiling salt water for 10 minutes and 20 minutes. Take out the examination, when the hands squeeze the rear abdomen of the scorpion, the scorpion can stand upright, showing a groove in the back of the scorpion, abdominal depression, can be fished out. Dry in the ventilated place, it becomes "salty scorpion", also known as "saltwater scorpion". The ratio of salt, water and scorpion is: 1kg (about 1000) live scorpion with 200 g salt and water 5~6kg. Dissolve the salt completely before adding the scorpion.

1.2 the processing of "light scorpion" also known as "freshwater scorpion". Before processing, the scorpion should be soaked in cold water, washed, and then boiled in clean boiling water. When the water boils, add the scorpion, then add the right amount of cold water, continue to heat, when the water boils up again, fish it out and dry it.

2 quality standard of medicinal scorpion

High-quality medicinal scorpion: dry, complete head, tail and feet, flat and oval head and foreabdomen, tail-shaped rear abdomen, wrinkled and curved. The scorpion has 13 segments, 1 pair of pincer-like whiskers on the head, 4 pairs of feet on the abdomen, double hooks and claws at each end, and a sharp poison hook in the last segment of the abdomen. The body is yellowish brown, oily and shiny, with a fishy smell and salty taste. Body integrity, fasting, no impurities, no salt tide.

3. Storage of medicinal scorpion

Salty scorpion is easy to resist bittern and lack limbs and tails in summer, and it is generally not eaten by insects, but it is easy to be damp and moldy, so salty scorpions should pay attention to moistureproof; light scorpions should be moistureproof and insect-proof. The dried scorpion should be graded, the missing limb and tail, and the smaller scorpion should be stored separately from the larger, high-quality scorpion with complete body. Each 0.5kg scorpion is wrapped in 1 package of moisture-proof paper, put into a dry tank or maggot box, and covered, stored in a ventilated and dry place, to strictly prevent rodent harm.
