Hiroshi Shangzhi, from Okayama Prefecture, Japan, found the seedlings of Shenyu and Okubo varieties purchased, presumed to be accidental, and named them in 1985 after identification. Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences was introduced from Japan in 1966.
The fruit is oval, the two halves are symmetrical, the top of the fruit is round; the average weight of a single fruit is 150 grams, and the maximum weight of the fruit is 400 grams; the peel is milky white, the top and sun are red, and the skin is easy to peel off; the pulp is milky white, with a small amount of red element infiltrating into the pulp, dense flesh, juicy, sweet flavor, strong aroma; soluble solids 11.7%. Nuclear semi-detachment. The tree is medium or slightly strong, and the tree posture is open. The fruiting branches are stout, slightly sparse, and most of them are single flower buds. Flower buds are often formed between spring and summer shoots of long fruit branches, and pollen is aborted, so pollination varieties or artificial pollination are needed. It blossomed on April 4 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, and the fruit matured on June 22, with a fruit development period of 77 days.
This variety is a precocious fresh food variety. Large fruit shape, beautiful appearance, excellent quality, resistance to storage and transportation, strong adaptability. However, the pollen is sterile, so it is necessary to configure pollination varieties.
