1. Choose the "moss tip" to bend nearly one circle in the appropriate time for picking. Picking garlic moss must be at the right time. Early picking will result in low yield of garlic moss due to insufficient extraction of garlic moss, and a section of "excess moss" will protrude after harvest. Picking too late will not only affect the fresh and tender quality of garlic moss, but also affect the yield of garlic mound because the leaves are nearly senescent after picking garlic mound. The most suitable picking time is: the garlic moss is pulled out, and the "moss tip" bends nearly a circle.
2. Pick the weather after the sun slopes on cloudy or sunny days. When picking garlic moss, leave "wounds" to the stems and leaves of garlic. If picked in bright light on a sunny day, it will shorten the life of leaves and affect the growth of garlic weight because of large transpiration and excessive water loss. Cloudy and sunny days after the sun is the best picking weather, picking in rainy days should pay attention to step on garlic rows as little as possible to prevent land consolidation.
3. Skillfully use a "needle" when picking, picking moss without picking leaves. In the past, many garlic farmers pinch off the garlic moss together with the garlic leaves when picking garlic moss. This method cuts off more than half of the source of life for the growth of garlic mound. The best way is to use a "big needle" to sew clothes or sacks into the place where the garlic moss is to be picked, cut it vertically from the bottom up, and then cut off the garlic moss and extract the garlic moss. Leave all the leaves for the garlic weight to grow.
4. Apply fertilizer in time after picking. Garlic after picking garlic moss should be replenished in time. Generally, 1000-1500 kg of rotten rare human and animal feces are applied per mu, or 100-150g potassium dihydrogen phosphate plus 0.5-1kg urea for foliar topdressing.
