Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Triticale and rye belong to Gramineae forage grass, which are recognized as high-quality forage crops for herbivores at home and abroad. Harvesting at the end of May can solve the problem of insufficient green feeding in spring, and the yield of fresh grass per mu can reach 2000-2500kg. Our region has been planted for 3 years, and several excellent varieties have been selected, of which triticale is 1890 and Fan 3, rye is Dongmu 70, and their cultivation techniques are basically close to those of traditional winter wheat. The main cultivation techniques are as follows: 1. Seed treatment before sowing: first, ensure the seed quality, and dry the seeds for 3 days before sowing.

Triticale and rye belong to Gramineae forage grass, which are recognized as high-quality forage crops for herbivores at home and abroad. Harvesting at the end of May can solve the problem of insufficient green feeding in spring, and the yield of fresh grass per mu can reach 2000-2500kg. It has been planted for 3 years in our region, and several excellent varieties have been selected, among which triticale is 1890 and Fan 3, rye is Dongmu 70, and their cultivation techniques are basically close to those of traditional winter. The main cultivation techniques are as follows:

1. Seed treatment before sowing: first of all, ensure the seed quality, dry the seeds for 3 days before sowing, and coat or mix the seeds to reduce the harm of underground pests.

2. Sowing: use a wheat seeder to sow seeds.

3. Sowing date: the optimum sowing date is from September 20 to October 5.

4. Sowing rate: triticale is controlled at about 10 kg / mu, rye is controlled at 5ml / mu.

5. Fertilization: apply sufficient base fertilizer before sowing, fertilizer can be used special compound fertilizer for wheat, the amount of fertilizer is 50-60kg/ mu. In order to prevent late lodging, the current seedling situation can be seen in spring to decide whether to topdressing or not. If the seedling is strong, it can not be applied, and if the seedling is weak, urea 5-10kg/ mu can be applied appropriately.

6. Watering: pour enough frozen water in late November to ensure that triticale and rye survive the winter normally. Pour some water in the period of returning to youth. The stage of initiation and jointing is mainly controlled to prevent excessive growth, too large population, resulting in serious lodging in the later stage.

7. Timely harvest: if you do silage, you can cut it at any time after the jointing stage and use it directly for feeding; if you do silage, in order to ensure the quality of silage, it should be harvested 10 days after flowering. When the water content of the plant is 65-70%, it is most suitable for silage; hay can be harvested on a good day during the filling period after flowering, drying and bundling on the spot, and avoid rain to prevent damage to the quality of forage.
