Porcine pneumoniasis is a kind of endemic post-porcine filariasis. The disease mainly affects piglets of 30~50kg. It causes pneumonia and bronchitis in pigs, which seriously affects the growth and development of pigs and even leads to their death.

1 morbidity

The vast majority of farmers in Enshi, Hubei Province are mainly free-range farmers, mostly fed with fodder, mountain forage and farm vegetables, and most of the green fodder is simply washed with water or not washed, so pigs are extremely prone to parasite infection.

On May 20, 2008, Yingshang Village, Tunbao Township, Enshi City, fell ill to about 2 30kg pigs raised by a family, and began to eat less, accompanied by cough, vomiting, dry hair, much smaller than the same group; on the 21st, the cough intensified and accompanied by a small amount of secretions flowing out of the nostrils, restless. After that, the feeding method was improved by enclosure disinfection and deworming treatment (green fodder was washed with water). The symptoms were quickly controlled. Began to eat on the 23rd and basically returned to normal on the 26th.

2 clinical symptoms

This case is not a serious infection. The pig is emaciated, stunted, dry and dull, coughing violently and screaming when exercising in the morning and evening or when the temperature is low at night. There is a small amount of secretions from the nostrils, mild vomiting, constipation and slight edema of the eyelids.

3 laboratory examination

The eggs in feces were examined by precipitation method. The eggs of porcine lungs were brown and oval, with a size of 57 ~ 59 μ m × 43 ~ 49 μ m. The egg shell was thick, rough and rough, and contained a curly larva. White filamentous worms can be isolated from the sticky secretions from the nose.

4 diagnosis

According to epidemiology, clinical symptoms and laboratory examination, it was diagnosed as porcine pneumoniasis.

5 Prevention and treatment

(1) levamisole 10mL/ was injected intramuscularly on one side of the neck of infected pigs, and the other side was intramuscularly injected with special effect [parathyroid injection (including dried pericarp, licorice, Hawthorn, malt, Atractylodes, mung bean, magnolia, Acanthopanax senticosus, gentian grass, etc.), Chongqing Zhengtong veterinary medicine] 10mL, plus houttuynia cordata 10mL mixed with a bottle of fine Xilin (containing 4 million U of benzylpenicillin, produced by Beira Group Rick) for 3 days. At the same time, with the gradual feeding of pigs, 10g ivermectin was mixed into each meal and fed once every one day.

(2) spray the enclosure and walls with quicklime water or 30% plant ash, then rinse with clean water for about 1 hour, once a day.

(3) the feces should be removed in time, and some quicklime should be sprinkled in the dung tank.

6 discussion

The main results are as follows: (1) Porcine pneumoniasis is mostly caused by pigs eating eggs or swallowing soil contaminated with larvae. Because there are many earthworms as the intermediate hosts in the field of wild forage grass and farm vegetables, the worms develop into infectious larvae in the earthworms twice and are swallowed by pigs and invade the intestinal wall. Drill into the mesenteric lymph nodes to develop, after two peeling, through the lymphatic system into the heart, lung, in the lung parenchyma, bronchioles mature, leading to the disease.

(2) because the affected part of the disease is the key heart and lung of the animal, it is necessary to find, diagnose and treat early in order to get a good effect.

(3) the cause of the disease is related to external environmental hygiene. attention should be paid to the cleaning and disinfection of the enclosure while treating diseased pigs in order to better prevent the occurrence of the disease.
