Last Updated: 2024/11/05, (i) Remove leaves. It is commonly known as "hitting the public branch." Leaves grow fast, consume more nutrients, inhibit the growth of fruit branches and affect the development of buds and bolls, at the same time cause poor ventilation in the lower part of cotton plants, easy to produce diseases and insect pests, so that buds and bolls fall off, so it should be removed in time. If the cotton plant grows too vigorously, it can also knock off the leaves and leaves under the fruit branches together, which is called "taking off the trouser legs" by the masses. When taking off the trouser legs, if the buds have appeared on the leaves, the top center of the leaves can be knocked off and reformed. (b) Scrubs. Commonly known as "wipe ears." (1) removing leaf branches. It is commonly known as "hitting the public branch". Leaf branches grow fast, consume a lot of nutrients, inhibit the growth of fruit branches and affect the development of buds and bolls, and cause poor ventilation in the lower part of cotton plants, which is prone to diseases and insect pests, so they should be removed in time. If the cotton plant grows too vigorously, the leaf branch and the leaf under the fruit branch can also be knocked off together, and the masses are called "taking off the trouser leg". When taking off the trouser leg, if there is a bud on the leaf branch, the top of the leaf branch can be knocked off and reformed.

(2) smear superfluous buds. Commonly known as "wipe the ear". The superfluous buds growing at the junction of the fruit branch and the main stem only consume nutrients and promote their budding, so they should be erased at any time and generally rub the superfluous buds 2 to 3 times during the whole growing period. Sometimes the middle and upper fruit branches can appear in the axils of the leaves, so we should pay attention to the difference when wiping the superfluous buds and retain them to increase the chance of setting peaches.

(3) pick a sideline. In the case of interlaced luxuriant branches and high density of cotton, timely removal of the center on the fruit branch has a good effect on ventilation and light transmission, regulation, balance of nutrient distribution, promotion of early maturity, control of horizontal growth, convenient operation of cotton field and so on.

To this end, generally in mid-July, late July to the end of August, the top of the middle and lower part of the fruit should be picked by the side heart, so that the plant type is "treasure".
