The scions should be collected by the mother trees with good growth characters and strong fruiting ability in the seed orchard, and carried out in the early and middle of March in the year of grafting and before the sap began to flow. The collection site is the 2nd ~ 3rd Suaeda salsa branch of the trunk, and it is an one-year-old branch with strong growth. The thickness of scion should be about 8 mm. The scion should not be collected too much at one time, and each plant can control 15-20 branches to protect the excellent mother tree. The scion should be packed, moisturized, transported or stored in cellar after collection. Use the rural vegetable cellar to store, put 50 centimeters of ice at the bottom, put the scion into, seal

Use the rural vegetable cellar to store, put 50 cm ice cubes at the bottom, put the scion in, seal the pit mouth, and the temperature in the cellar should be controlled below-5 ℃.

two。 The grafting time of Pinus koraiensis can be from mid-May to early June, and it is better for the high growth and fast growth period of new branches or just after the fast growth period.

3. The grafting method selects the newly planted young forest which is more than 2 years old, and the tree age is 4-6 years old. After the scion comes out of the cellar, the stored scion should be selected and cut, the terminal bud is full and strong, not germinated, not air-dried, not dehydrated, the cutting length is 9cm to 10cm, and the scion needle leaves are preserved completely. When grafting, it is best to carry the scion in a container and take moisturizing measures to avoid sun exposure and air drying, thus affecting the survival rate of the scion. It is better that the thickness of scion is the same as that of rootstock, and the thickness of scion should not be lower than that of rootstock.

Cut the scion into a wedge with a length of 1.5 cm. If you want to cut it with a knife, do not do it repeatedly. After the scion is cut, the rootstock is treated, and the needles about 5 cm below the terminal bud of the rootstock are removed. Then cut the terminal bud 2 mm upward from the base of the bud, and then cut down along the core of the pulp of the rootstock, which is slightly longer than the wedge length of the scion. Insert the cut wedge-shaped scion into the section of the rootstock so that the cambium of the scion is combined with the cambium of the rootstock. Tie it up with plastic strips to reveal the full top bud, to ensure that it is impervious to water and air.

4. Note: do not cut off the lateral branch apical buds around the rootstock when grafting. If the scion is damaged, withered or dead due to the damage of people and animals, drought and other factors after grafting, the side branches with good growth and strong vitality can be grafted again in the second year because the main branches of the rootstock can no longer be grafted. The plants grafted with lateral branches as rootstocks can be cultivated for both fruit and wood or to promote fruiting depending on their growth.

5. Management after grafting livestock are strictly prohibited from entering woodland after grafting. 90 days after the grafting survived, the wrapped plastic strip was removed and the terminal bud of the lateral branch of the rootstock was cut off. After the survival of grafting, the growth of lateral branches of rootstocks is larger than that of scions. In order to promote the growth of main branches of scions, pruning should be carried out once a year in spring to cut off the terminal buds of lateral branches that affect the growth of main branches of scions. Pruning to promote firmness should be carried out after fruiting.
