It is necessary for dog owners to master some of the most commonly used basic knowledge in this area, so that sick dogs can be found in time and some simple treatments can be carried out. Never think that the diagnosis and treatment of dog disease is only a veterinarian's business. (1) there are two aspects to look at, one is to look at the dog's mental state, behavior and response to external stimuli under quiet conditions, and the other is to look at the dog's body surface condition (quilt, skin, natural pores, etc.) and excreta characteristics. (2) whether it is normal to listen to the barking and breathing sound of a dog directly, whether there is wheezing, coughing or sneezing, or with the help of stethoscope and short tube to listen to heartbeat, breathing and gastrointestinal wriggling sound. (3) the rectal temperature was measured with a common animal thermometer (37. 5-38. 5 ℃ in adult dogs and 38. 2 ℃ in young dogs). The dog's body temperature changes regularly throughout the day, with the lowest in the morning and slightly higher in the afternoon, and the temperature difference between day and night is generally less than 1 ℃. It is abnormal if the temperature difference is too large or upside down (high in the morning and low in the evening). You can also use your hand to hold the dog's ear to feel its body temperature. (4) touch a part of the body surface with the palm or back of the hand to determine the temperature and sensitivity of the skin, the tension of the muscles, and whether the adjacent organs are normal (position, size, texture, pain or not). The heartbeat or pulse can also be easily felt by hand. (5) tapping the dogs' stomach or intestines and other organs in the corresponding area of the body surface (projection area) with their fingers can judge whether they are normal or not.
