A Preliminary Report on the Breeding of a New Very Late Maturing Peach Line Dongxuewangtao
With the breeding goal of breeding new varieties with very late ripening, high quality, storage tolerance and high yield, we crossed Dongxue peach as female parent and Birthday Bun with Bean Paste Filling as male parent in 1998. 50 hybrid fruits were bred in 1999, 46 hybrid seedlings were bred in 1999, high grafting was carried out in 2000, and the fruit characters were good in 2001. a multi-spot experiment was conducted in 2004, selected as a new strain and tentatively named Dongxuewang peach. The main characters are as follows. The main results are as follows: (1) the botanical characteristics of the tree are more open, the main branches and perennial branches are gray-white, the 2-year-old branches are dark reddish brown, the annual branches are reddish brown, the leaves are lanceolate, dark green, the leaves are large, long and wide 13.82cm × 3.16cm, the petals are pink and the amount of pollen is large. (2) the fruit is round, the fruit is large, the average weight of single fruit is 216.5g, the maximum weight of single fruit is 400.0g, the pericarp is flaky and bright rose red (see chart 2), the fruit surface is smooth, the pilose hairs are few, the fruit top is flat, the fruit shoulder is slightly convex, without fruit stalk, the peel is shallow, the pericarp is thick, the stone is small, the kernel weight is 6.59. Sticky nucleus to semi-detached nucleus. The flesh is milky white, pink near the core, hard and crisp meat, sweet flavor and good quality. The content of soluble solids is 18.10%, and the edible rate is 97.00%. Extremely resistant to storage, it can be stored to New Year's Day at room temperature and to Spring Festival under refrigerated conditions. (3) the characteristics of growth and fruit and phenological period of young trees are vigorous, the growth potential of fruit trees is moderate, the first fruit trees are mainly medium and long fruit branches, when the tree power is relaxed, the fruit is mainly medium and short fruit branches, the fruit rate of self-pollination is high, the fruit is early, the yield is high, and the yield of 667m2 in high-yield orchard is 4000kg. In Qingzhou, Shandong Province, Dongxuewang peach sprouts in mid-March, blossoms in early April, and the fruit ripens in late October. This strain has no frost injury, less insect fruit, less disease and strong adaptability in Qingzhou, Shandong Province. (4) the suitable plant spacing is 4m × 3m and 4.5m × 3m in hilly and mountainous areas, and 5m × 3m and 5m × 4m in plain. To strengthen fertilizer and water management, nitrogen fertilizer can be applied in the early growth stage, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer can be applied in the later stage, and fertilizer can be sprayed at the right time. Pay attention to the prevention and control of aphids, red spiders, gum disease, peach bacterial perforation and so on.
