Lianmai No. 2 was selected by the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, and passed the national examination and approval number: 2005004 in 2005.

The variety belongs to the semi-winter multi-spike type mid-maturity line, the seedlings are semi-creeping, the leaves are slender and green. The tillering ability is strong, the panicle rate is high, and get up early in spring. The plant type is compact, the ear layer is neat, and the flag leaf is flushed up. The plant height is about 80 cm, the stem is elastic and resistant to lodging. It has strong cold resistance and good fruiting, with about 400000 ears per mu, 35 grains per ear and 40 grams per thousand grains. Long awn, white shell, white grain, keratin, fuller, good appearance commodity. The bulk density is high and the rate of black embryo is low. The comprehensive resistance was good, and the resistance to powdery mildew and scab was moderate. The main indicators are up to the national quality standard of strong tendons.

The yield of this variety increased by 2.82% per mu compared with the control Yumai 49 in the regional trial of the winter water group in the southern Huang-Huai wheat region from 2004 to 2005, and increased by 4.28% per mu compared with the control Yumai 49 in the production test of the winter water group in the southern Huang-Huai wheat region. The yield is excellent, and the yield stability is good between years and regions.

The suitable sowing date is from October 5 to November 5, and the suitable basic seedlings are 120000 ~ 160000 per mu.

The suitable planting range is suitable for early and middle cropping in the north-central part of Henan Province, northern Anhui Province, northern Jiangsu Province, Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province and Heze area of Shandong Province.
