After ingesting excessive or insufficient amount of chemicals in a certain period of time, chemical chickens cause metabolic disorders and dysfunction of internal organs, resulting in the suspension of production or molting of hens. After the removal of chemical agents, after rest and physical recovery, the hens resumed the second laying period under the condition of normal feed. At present, the most commonly used chemical method is to feed high zinc diet. For example, if the chicken was fed with a diet containing 2% zinc, the laying rate of chickens decreased to less than 50% after 3 days, and all production was stopped after 6 to 7 days.

1. For example, when 2% zinc was fed in the diet, the laying rate of hens dropped to less than 50% after 3 days, and stopped in 6-7 days. 2 weeks after zinc was removed, the laying rate of hens could exceed the level before zinc feeding. Or 2.5% zinc oxide is added to the ingredient containing 3.5%-4% calcium to allow chickens to forage freely without restricting the water supply. Generally speaking, the feed intake of hens decreased by 75% / 80% on the 4th day, and the laying rate dropped to almost 2% / 0% on the 7th day. 25 to 30 days after stopping feeding this feed, the laying rate of hens can reach 50%.

2. When the hormone method was used, the chickens ate and drank freely, and the light was shortened to 8 hours in the first 12 days. For example, after intramuscular injection of 30 mg progesterone, the main wing feathers and aileron feathers were quickly replaced and eggs began to be laid 41-48 days after moulting. The egg production of hens treated by this method is slightly lower. Because hormone injection is easy to destroy the balance of hormones in the body and cause metabolic disorder, the hormone method is rarely used.

3. By cutting off water, material and light, the animal husbandry method artificially exerts stress factors on chickens, disrupts the normal life law of chickens, causes sudden physiological pressure on chickens, loses balance of hormone secretion, decreases lutein, and reduces estrogen in ovaries. As a result, the follicles atrophied, resulting in suspension of production and molting. The animal husbandry forced molting method of cutting off water, material and light has a variety of schemes in practice, all of which can achieve certain results. (1) Rapid forced moulting: the goal is to restore 50% laying rate of hens within 6 weeks. The methods are as follows: ① was cut off for 10 days; at the beginning of ②, the supplementary light of the open chicken house was stopped, and the light of the closed chicken house was shortened to 8 hours; ③ drank freely; shell powder was fed during ④ molting; after ⑤ was cut off for 10 days, the laying hens were fed freely to restore the light before molting. (2) ordinary forced moulting: the goal is to achieve 50% laying rate of hens within 6 ~ 8 weeks. The implementation method is as follows: ① was cut off for 10 days; ② drank freely; ③ open chicken house stopped replenishing light, and the light of closed chicken house was shortened to 8 hours; from the 11th day of ④, the fines were fed continuously for more than 4 weeks; when ⑤ resumed laying, laying hens were fed feed and the original light was restored.

4. Combination method this method is an improved method of forced molting, which combines the advantages of animal husbandry method and chemical method. The method is as follows: cut off water and material for 2.5 days, stop artificial light supplement, then start supplying water, and let chickens freely eat feed containing 2% or 2.5% zinc sulfate from the third day for 7 consecutive days. Generally, all production will stop after 10 days, and the normal light will be restored at this time. The hens relay eggs 20 days after molting begins. The laying rate of hens reached 50% 50% 50 days after molting. In the combination method, the mortality rate of hens generally does not exceed 1% during molting.
