Changes of Antibody to Porcine Circovirus Type 2

Last Updated: 2024/10/07, There were two peaks of antibodies against porcine circovirus, one was maternal antibody at 1~2 weeks of age, the other was maternal antibody at 8~10 weeks of age, which was caused by circovirus infection, and then the antibody level decreased to undetectable at the stage of big pig, which also indicated that the virus infection was slight at this stage. Porcine circovirus infection is very harmful to pigs. The period of low health level of pigs coincides with circovirus infection in time. This is our strict prevention against immune failure and secondary infection.

The porcine circovirus antibody has a certain stage, and the antibody has two peaks, one is the maternal antibody obtained from the mother at the age of 1-2 weeks, and the other is caused by circovirus infection at the age of 8-10 weeks, and then to the pig stage, the antibody level decreases to undetectable, which also indicates that the infection of the virus is mild at this stage. Porcine circovirus infection does great harm to pigs, and the period of low health level of pigs coincides with circovirus infection in time, which provides a theoretical basis for immune failure, serious secondary infection and the increase of respiratory problems in pigs, and also provides a new way for us to prevent and control the epidemic.
