Tea aphid is also known as orange aphid. Belongs to Homoptera, Aphididae. The winged adult of tea aphid is about 2 mm long, yellowish brown and glossy. The base of each node of the antennae is yellowish. The midvein of the forewing is bifurcated. There are 4 pairs of black spots on the dorsal side of the abdomen. The winged nymph is brown and the wing buds are milky white. The wingless adult aphid is nearly oval, slightly hypertrophic and brown, with fine yellowish horizontal reticulation on the body surface, milky white at the base of each node of the antennae and black at the end. Wingless nymph is light brown or yellowish.
There are many kinds of natural enemies of tea aphids, such as ladybugs, lacewings, aphid flies, aphid wasps and so on. In spring, with the accumulation of tea aphids, natural enemies also occur correspondingly. During the peak period of tea aphids, the number of natural enemies increases sharply, resulting in a sharp decline in the population. For example, each aphid fly larva or ladybug adult and larva can feed on tea aphids 80ml 117 per day. Therefore, as long as the natural enemies are well protected, tea aphids in the tea garden do not need to spray, but the number of enemies is small on that day, and the rate of aphids in the tea garden is more than 10%.
