Causes of Defoliation and Death of Rhododendron after Organic Fertilizer Application
The abnormal death of fallen leaves after watering the retted organic fertilizer solution may be caused by the following reasons:
First, there may be a small amount of salt (sodium chloride) in eggshells and bean dregs, while the fine whisker roots of rhododendrons are more sensitive to sodium ions, resulting in the death of rotten roots and leaves.
Second, the concentration of 5% may be a little thicker for the fine hairy roots of azaleas, or the last remaining fertilizer solution will be higher, making it difficult for the plant to resist.
Third, the time of fertilization is inappropriate, such as after flower fade, when the new root tip is just protruding, or under the hot condition of temperature higher than 32 ℃, the absorption function of rhododendron is very weak, which leads to fertilizer injury to roots and death of fallen leaves. In addition, rhododendron is not suitable to be irrigated with well water, especially deep well water. Watering rhododendron with well water for a long time can easily cause the decline of root activity and cause plant death.
The fertilization of rhododendron should be based on the needs of different growth periods. Before flowering, to topdressing phosphate fertilizer, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be used to spray leaves or water roots, once every 10 days, 2 to 3 times in a row. Stop fertilizing during flowering, and topdressing nitrogen fertilizer 10 to 15 days after flowering. 3% organic fertilizer solution or 0.2% urea solution can be used to promote plant shoot and leaf growth. July to August is the high temperature season, the plant growth is stagnant, so it is not suitable to apply fertilizer. When it turns cool in autumn, it is the period of bud expansion, and more phosphate fertilizer is needed, which can be done every 10 days. After winter, if the temperature in the greenhouse is lower than 13 ℃ and the plant stops growing, the fertilizer should be stopped in time.
Cuckoo fertilization should pay attention to the frequent application of thin fertilizer, organic fertilizer does not stain the foliar. Fertilization is best carried out in the evening on a sunny day, when the basin soil is dry, and spray clean water again the next morning, in order to dissolve the fertilizer in the soil and make it easily absorbed by the root system.

Management of rhododendron after flowering
After pruning and plastic rhododendron blooming, it is generally necessary to manually remove the residual flowers, and then carry out appropriate thinning, cut off the dense branches and let them re-branch. Fertilizer and water management in northern China, the water is alkaline and hard. Long-term watering of flowers is easy to cause soil Alkalization and affect the growth of flowers. Therefore, the water should be stored in a container for more than 24 hours before watering, and then used after chlorine volatilization. It can also be watered every 10 days or so with the right amount of ferrous sulfate or edible white vinegar. Cuckoos do not need much fertilizer, they usually apply fertilizer with water, so they can

Identification and Control of several Common fungal Diseases in Rhododendron
Among the common rhododendron diseases, the main fungal diseases are rhododendron powdery mildew, rust, gray spot, blight, cake leaf disease and so on. (1) the main differences of the following diseases are: 1. Rhododendron powdery mildew: it usually occurs in the middle and later stage of growth, which at first fades to green spot, then grows white mycelium layer, produces a large number of white powdery conidium layer, and later becomes grayish brown. Rhododendron rust: transparent gold or transparent gold on the back of the leaves at the initial stage
