Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Azalea irrigation after the application of organic fertilizer system, there are abnormal deciduous death, there may be the following reasons: first, there may be a small amount of salt (sodium chloride) mixed in eggshells and bean dregs, and azalea fine fibrous roots are sensitive to sodium ions, resulting in the death of rotten roots and deciduous leaves. The second is the concentration of 5%, which may be thicker for the fine hair fiber roots of rhododendrons, or the final remaining fertilizer solution, which will have a higher concentration, making it difficult for plants to resist. Third, fertilization time is inappropriate, such as in the flower after wither, when the new root just out,

The abnormal death of fallen leaves after watering the retted organic fertilizer solution may be caused by the following reasons:

First, there may be a small amount of salt (sodium chloride) in eggshells and bean dregs, while the fine whisker roots of rhododendrons are more sensitive to sodium ions, resulting in the death of rotten roots and leaves.

Second, the concentration of 5% may be a little thicker for the fine hairy roots of azaleas, or the last remaining fertilizer solution will be higher, making it difficult for the plant to resist.

Third, the time of fertilization is inappropriate, such as after flower fade, when the new root tip is just protruding, or under the hot condition of temperature higher than 32 ℃, the absorption function of rhododendron is very weak, which leads to fertilizer injury to roots and death of fallen leaves. In addition, rhododendron is not suitable to be irrigated with well water, especially deep well water. Watering rhododendron with well water for a long time can easily cause the decline of root activity and cause plant death.

The fertilization of rhododendron should be based on the needs of different growth periods. Before flowering, to topdressing phosphate fertilizer, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be used to spray leaves or water roots, once every 10 days, 2 to 3 times in a row. Stop fertilizing during flowering, and topdressing nitrogen fertilizer 10 to 15 days after flowering. 3% organic fertilizer solution or 0.2% urea solution can be used to promote plant shoot and leaf growth. July to August is the high temperature season, the plant growth is stagnant, so it is not suitable to apply fertilizer. When it turns cool in autumn, it is the period of bud expansion, and more phosphate fertilizer is needed, which can be done every 10 days. After winter, if the temperature in the greenhouse is lower than 13 ℃ and the plant stops growing, the fertilizer should be stopped in time.

Cuckoo fertilization should pay attention to the frequent application of thin fertilizer, organic fertilizer does not stain the foliar. Fertilization is best carried out in the evening on a sunny day, when the basin soil is dry, and spray clean water again the next morning, in order to dissolve the fertilizer in the soil and make it easily absorbed by the root system.
