Closed cuttage propagation of rhododendron

First, the selection and construction of the slotting bed should be built in the place of leeward, shade and water. Covered with black shading net (60% to 70% shading rate), both sides of the shading net should be hung to the ground, so that the whole shed is in a cool environment. There is no small arch shed on the seedbed, and the center of the arch shed is 40 centimeters high. Cover with a layer of plastic film and then a layer of black shading net (60% to 70% shading rate).

Second, lay the substrate in early May, mix rotten leaf soil and perlite (1 ∶ 1) evenly in the seedbed, the thickness should not be less than 30 cm. Flatten it and spray 0.5% carbendazim solution to disinfect and sterilize.

Third, cuttings can be harvested when cutting and sealing new branches are in a semi-mature state. Using this method, you don't have to wait for the rainy season to come, and you can insert it from late May to late August. When cutting, remove the lower leaves of the cuttings, soak them in B9 aqueous solution from 2500ppm to 5000ppm (0.25% to 0.5%) for 5 to 10 seconds, and insert them into the substrate. Insert a section and pour a section of water, then cover. Immediately after the whole bed is inserted, it is completely closed and completely shaded.

Fourth, after the management of cutting, due to the rising temperature, the soil and water content of the bed will gradually decrease. Generally, it needs to be watered once from the end of June to the beginning of July, and 0.5% carbendazim solution can be added when watering, and then it will remain sealed. Pick the buds in August, and if the bed soil is dry at this time, replenish water properly. Generally, the root system initially grows in August, and the top shading net can be removed (on the greenhouse) in mid-September, and the small arch shed can be opened at the end of September and the beginning of October for fertilization (0.1% to 0.5% of inorganic fertilizer) and watering (0.2% ferrous sulfate or alum fertilizer water is added when watering). In late October, it was covered with plastic film and shading net of a small arch shed, and an arch bar was encrypted to protect against wind and snow. After entering the winter, add a new plastic film to the small arch shed to facilitate the safe passage of the winter. By April of the following year, all the covers will be removed and fertilizer and water management will be strengthened at the same time.

The practice shows that this method has the advantages of simple, labor-saving, material-saving, easy management, high survival rate (more than 95%), fast growth and so on, and is suitable for mass production.
