Morphological features:

Alpine white pearl tree is an evergreen shrub, the plant is about 20cm high, growing in the middle and high altitude mountains, the leaves are oblanceolate, the leaf surface is smooth, the edge is serrated, alternate. The stem is red, erect or growing along the surface.

The leaves are clustered at the top of branches, the leaf surface is glabrous, and the back of the leaf is covered with reddish yellow dense woolly. Flowers terminal, racemose umbels, Corolla bell-shaped, white, pink, red and other colors, fleshy calyx, will enclose the fruit after fruiting, there are ten stamens, the ovary has five chambers, the fruit matures from July to October, and it is a capsule. There are more than a dozen florets in a bud, which are spherical and bright in color, with a florescence from April to May.

Growth habits:

Alpine rhododendron is very adaptable and can grow at normal temperature. it is mostly produced outdoors in Europe and can be produced in greenhouses under certain conditions.

Growing in mountain shady slopes, alpine fir forests or grassy slopes at forest edges from 2500 to 4000 meters above sea level.

Alpine rhododendron is now mostly used for potted ornamental plants, it likes the cold and cool, high humidity environment, because of the large crown, water demand is also large.
