Because of its luxuriant flowers and colorful flowers, rhododendron is deeply loved by the majority of flower growers. However, many people find that when azaleas are just bought back, when they spend a long time at home, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off, and the flowers will become smaller and fewer. How to raise cuckoos well? Based on years of experience, the author believes that attention should be paid to the following three points:

First, humidity azaleas are maintained and grown in the greenhouse before they are bought home, and the air humidity in the greenhouse is relatively large, which is suitable for the growth of azaleas, but the air humidity in general family rooms is very low, especially in buildings heated in winter. The air humidity in the bedroom is even lower. Due to the change of growing environment, the leaves of rhododendron are easily yellowed and shedded, and the flowers are getting smaller and less. Therefore, after buying azaleas home, we should often spray water on the plants to increase the humidity of the surrounding air and wash away the dust adhered to the flowers, branches and leaves at the same time.

Second, fertilizing rhododendron is a fertilizer-loving flower, especially in the period of exuberant growth and flowering. However, fertilization should not be applied in large quantities at one time, but the principle of "applying thin fertilizer frequently and applying a small amount of fertilizer for many times" should be adopted to prevent azaleas from burning and rotting roots due to excessive concentration of fertilization. The fermented liquid of sesame cake, peanut cake and bean cake should be used to apply fertilizer. When applying fertilizer, the clarified solution of fermented cake fertilizer should be taken, diluted with water and applied along the four sides of the basin, and the remaining residue can be applied as base fertilizer when changing pots.

Third, water quality rhododendron has strict requirements on water quality, like slightly acidic water quality, alkaline water quality is easy to make rhododendron growth retardation, plant aging, but also easy to cause plant iron deficiency. However, the water quality in the north is mostly alkaline, and the contents of calcium and magnesium ions in the water are high, so it is not suitable to be used as irrigation water for rhododendron. When watering flowers, it is appropriate to use Rain Water or melted clean snow water (their water quality is neutral or acidic). Adding a small amount of ferrous sulfate at the same time can not only supplement the lack of iron in the plant, but also adjust the acid water quality, and the effect is better.
