Ma Yuxi, senior engineer of China Winter ripening Fruit Tree Research Center in Junxian County, Henan Province, through 10 years of arduous exploration, has finally bred 12 new varieties of red leaf peach series with different colors and flower patterns, which not only make people pleasing to the eye, but also let people enjoy delicacy. When the peach returns to spring, it will first enjoy the peach blossoms, then the peach leaves are red, three times the red fruit hanging all over the branches, and finally let people eat the sweet fresh peach. The flower buds of red leaf peach varieties began to expand in early March, and the leaf buds germinated. At the beginning of April, the petals were 5, the flower diameter was 3.5-3.8 cm, and the flowering period was 10-15 days. Self-pollination produced purplish red fruit after flowering, the flowers and leaves grew at the same time, and the red leaves remained until late May. With the increase of air temperature, the purplish red leaves slowly changed to copper green or green from the base up, but the new shoots were still purple. The beautiful scenery of the lower green and upper purplish red of the whole fruit tree was maintained until the new shoots stopped growing rapidly in mid-September, and then the leaves all turned green. As the temperature rises, the fruit changes slowly from purplish red to cyan. By the middle of June, when the vertical diameter of the fruit reached about 3.4 cm, it had entered the hard core stage, and the development began to be slow. In late August, it entered the rapid growth period as the temperature became cooler. From the first ten days of September, the fruit began to color, at this time you can see purple-red fresh peach hanging all over the branches, green leaves and red fruits reflect each other, very beautiful. The ornamental fruit is ripening gradually. The fruit weight of red leaf peach varieties is between 80g and 200g respectively. The flesh is white, juicy and sweet, so it is a good food for all ages. The series of red leaf peach varieties are strong and adaptable, and can be planted in the ground or potted. Its cultivation will play a positive role in increasing the variety of landscaping in our country, adding environmental color and enriching people's life.
