Almond "charm", a new product of viewing flowers in early spring
Ornamental almond "charm" is a brightly colored and multi-petal ornamental variety found and selected from Uzbek almond seedlings, which belongs to the subfamily Liriaceae of Rosaceae. "charm" has white or pink flowers, emerald green leaves and beautiful trees, and its ornamental effect is similar to that of peaches and peaches. However, in greening practice, peach and green peach are seriously affected by aphids, shell insects and coal fouling disease, which seriously affect the ornamental effect. "charm" precisely has the characteristics of resistance to shell insects, aphids, coal fouling disease, barren and so on. Therefore, it can replace peaches and green peaches in relatively weak environments such as forest parks and road greening in planning and design, and enrich the structure of flowering tree species in early spring in China. Growth characteristics "charm", purplish red in color, flowers about 5.28 cm in diameter; 5 ~ 12 petals, multiple petals, about 2.22 cm in length and 2.30 cm in width; 49 ~ 58 stamens, purple; 1 pistil, milky white, stigma emerald green; "charm", flower branches stretch, flowers are compact, tree momentum is strong, crown is dense, flower is very easy to grow, mainly long flower branches and overgrown flower branches. The florescence is different in different years. Generally, the flower buds begin to sprout from February 19 to March 21, enter the initial flowering stage from February 28 to March 21, bloom from March 7 to 26, fall from March 27 to April 10, and the flowering period can be as long as 21-26 days. From March 22 to 28, the leaf buds began to germinate, and the leaf buds were tender green, which became interesting and beautiful with flowers. The leaves were yellow and green like weeping willow, and the leaves began to fall from November 12 to 24. The height of the 5-year-old tree is more than 250 cm, the crown width can reach 370 cm x 380 cm, and the stem diameter is more than 9 cm. "charm" seldom sits on the fruit, but most of the fruit falls 2 ~ 4 weeks after flowering. The seedlings can form flower buds and bloom in the same year, and in the second year, the branches can form a long string of flower branches after being cut short in winter, and the ornamental effect is excellent. "charm" is extremely resistant to poverty, and can be planted without watering or fertilizing all the year round, and the tree is strong; "charm" is extremely resistant to glue disease. In Luoyang, Henan Province, the 5-year-old "charm" has smooth bark, clean branches and no symptoms of glue flow, even if it is trimmed. "charm" is also extremely resistant to aphids. In the same experimental area, peach and apricot apricot aphids are infested, but "charm" and other almond varieties are basically harmless, and "charm" is also extremely resistant to shell insects. Shell insects occurred in peach and apricot trees in the same experimental area, but "charm" and other almond varieties rarely occurred. It can be said that "charm" is an excellent greening tree species and valuable almond insect-resistant germplasm resources. The cultivation techniques of "charm" are mainly for ornamental and soil and water conservation. The planting area is the edge of ditch, steep slope and the periphery of terrace, with a density of 200 cm X 300 cm. When planting, dig a 0.83 cm planting hole, fill the topsoil, fill the rapeseed cake, seal the soil and irrigate. One-year-old high-quality strong seedlings were selected and planted. When planting on the edge of the terrace, the grasping dragon is selected as the vegetation under the forest to conserve soil and water. When afforestation on the edge of the gully and steep slope, we should pay attention to the original vegetation, dig the planting hole for planting, and seal the hole with lawn grass in the planting hole. In terms of fertilizer and water management, because "charm" only blossoms but does not bear fruit, and is particularly resistant to barren, it does not need special fertilizer and water management, which is the same as that of general green seedlings. However, "charm" is very sensitive to nitrogen fertilizer. The supply of nitrogen fertilizer should be sprinkled with urea before sprouting, and the amount of fertilizer should be 0.5 kg / plant. "charm" is a small tree, the main flowering part is on the one-year-old branch, and its growth characteristic is medium sprouting ability and strong branch-forming ability, so it is necessary to truncate the one-year-old branch after falling flower in order to promote the formation of new branches. If cut short in winter, a large number of 1-year-old branches will be subtracted, affecting the ornamental effect. The lame pests of "charm" are mainly small green floating dust and red spiders. Spraying the whole tree and its surrounding environment with stone-sulfur mixture in winter can be prevented.
