Flowers unisexual, dioecious; umbels born in leaf axils of branches, sessile, densely covered with yellow-brown silky hairs; bracts large, alternately opposite, late-falling, perianth lobes 4, ovate; male flowers with stamens 8, fertile stamens 6, flowers ca. 4-loculed, introrse; staminodes of female flowers villous at base, ovary ovoid, glabrous. Drupe ±ellipsoid, 1.1-1.2 cm long, 0.7-0.8 cm in diameter, often symbiotic with flowers on branches, bright red when mature; pedicels 7-10 mm long in fruit, thicker distally; seeds subglobose, 7-8 mm long, 5.5-5.6 mm in diam., surface smooth, tip mucronate. Geographically distributed in Zhejiang Zhoushan archipelago Tuo and Taohua two islands. There was a record of Sheshan Island in Chongming, Shanghai. He was born in hills and valleys between 150 and 350 meters above sea level in Zhoushan Islands. It is also distributed in Japan and North Korea.

The main points of cultivation are propagated by seeds. After the ripe fruit is harvested, it should be soaked in water for 2-3 days, rub off the pulp, then wash and dry the sand.
